28142648 No.28142648 [Reply] [Original]

When I first made $50 from lucking out on some random shitcoin I was ecstatic.

Last week I made well over a 100k and just felt empty the whole time.

What the fuck is wrong with me and how do I fix it?

>be from broke but hard working family
>"go to school and get a better job than us"
>literally nobody has money in the family
>start investing in index funds and shit but I also only make $11.50 an hour so whoopdy do
>come to /biz/, watching fellow autists make 5 and 6 figures just from crypto gambles
>can't get the thought out of my head that I can help my family and so many more if I become an autistic shitcoin gambler

Now I can't sleep, I'm only up $50 on my first $700 crypto adventure and all I crave is what you already have.

What is your strategy?

In the boat with you, anon. I’ve made about 75$ this week and a half in a bull market. I’m trying to learn as much as I can, but it seems like luck plays a lot in this. And having money to invest. Sucks for us poorfags, but we just have to slowly swing trade up the ladder and hold the right coins.

I've been lurking occasionally as a crossboarder here for years, decided to sit down and throw 100 into DOGE last week at 0.02. Sitting at 1100 rn, pretty happy but have no idea where to go from here. Any advice anon? I think I'm not bad at this but I could be dead wrong.

It's sitting in btc rn btw

>>28143153
Most of my profit are from ETH. Try finding a coin with a solid use case and low-ish market cap.

Don't chase missed opportunities, there will always be another moonshot. Don't try to swing trade, don't jump between coins. Don't panic sell when it dumps. Just trust your initial assessment and ride it out.

Don't gamble with money you can't afford to lose - hell, don't even gamble with money that would hurt too much to lose.

What worked for me may not work for you, take other opinions into account as well.

Good luck!

>>28143323
Don't get me wrong, I realize and appreciate I got lucky. I just can't remember the last time I felt childlike joy or "true happiness".

It's entirely normal how you feel as >>28143061
points out.

Remember, money doesn't = happiness. But it can help facilitate it.

Try and cheer yourself up and use those earnings by investing in a a hobby/activity that interests you -- be it old or new. Or use them to send a gift to someone important to you. Congrats on the financial success and try and be well anon

It's called DISCIPLINE, anon, and you should be glad you have it.
You watch normies panic buy/sell leaving you feeling like some kind of outcast, which you are, but in the best way.
It's not depression as many here would want you to believe. You're just weird in the eyes of society for having something very few people possess.
Be proud of it, cherish it, and don't lose sight of the end goal.
It's all numbers on a screen right now, but eventually it will transform your life.

I appreciate the advice.

Dopamine receptors get fried from all the numbers. Constant flow of information is addictive, and it'll leave you numb and worn out from it after a while.

Honestly anon - cash out some of your winnings and spend it on a really meaningful experience (hard to do now of course). If you can't get happy from money, but you can't let go of it, then you're in a bind.

This lockdown sucks, but it's never been a better time to pick up a hobby, read a book or do some meditation. All sounds cheesey but you seem like a nice guy, wishing you well.

Go on coingecko, look for low marketcap coins and wait. It's like casting a line. Talk about your picks on /biz/ and start an organic discussion. When you're in at the absolute bottom, it's hard for anyone to dump on you, but you're going to be waiting for a long, long time for n explosive gain.

I agree with this. As a poorfag, I find happiness in metal detecting, hunting for arrowhead, and doing other cheesy shit. Money isn’t everything. Sometime it makes one feel that’s their only worth. Get out. Find a couple of hobbies. Do some exercise shit. You’ll find a balance fren.

believe what you want. point is after a certain point, and its different for everyone, it simply becomes a number, and theres no rational way to look at it and say: this is where i'm stopping.

there is no way to fix it other than going out and spending all of your money. the second you start thinking about hoarding it or treating it like a game, it's won.

I always fantasize about just paying for random people's groceries in front of me, buying beer for people at my local bowling alley, taking care of my parents and less fortunate friends/siblings, etc.

That is what is driving me right now, but I'm only 4 digits in. If I hit 6 I've made it.

>> No.28148722

I briefly hit $80k profits in a single day and I did not cash out because I did not feel anything. The only thing I felt was asking myself why it's not $500k? I don't think money will make me happy. I'm back down to $20k, still in profit, but I regret not using my brain and used my empty emotions. Only reason I'm here is so I can look after my ageing parents and pay for medical bills. But it's getting hard, it's causing emotional and mental fatigue.

of those the latter is what you should concentrate on. if you want a better life for your family you need a lot less than you think.

you'll be hard pressed to get 100x in crypto these days without gambling, but you seem prepared for the likely outcome of that.
