Tether is the biggest on/off ramp from Fiat to crypto. Tether trades USD to Tether 1:1.
So if Tether prints 600M Tether that means...?

>> No.28095008

Tether pumps are irrelevant.

Tether pumps happen because when the crypto market cap increases, the stablecoin market cap also increases. It's not a surprise. Stablecoin market cap is proportional to crypto market cap.

New buyers typically buy with fiat, and sellers typically sell for stablecoin. so it's no surprise that on bitcoin pumps, tether gets printed

the idea that tether are printing fresh USDT out of thin air to buy bitcoin is ridiculous

One thing to note is that every time tether is printed, tether is above the peg. Note in the screenshot above, 600m USDT = 601m USD. Again, makes sense. USDT rises above its peg on more demand for it, so someone mints USDT and makes that sweet $1m arbitrage.

This anon knows what is happening. Even I use Tether all the time. When Elon send millions his fans to Binance and Coinbase amount of Tether needed would have skyrocketed also.

If anything it tell's us how much they expect new fiat to flow into crypto.
