generally want 1.5 (assets to liabilities)
ROE and ROA (check it against similar companies in the same industries) ant them to be positive or at least above average,
check for increasing earnings each year,
and i look for whether short volume is high on ATS's.
that's all i really look at.

If someone wants to tell me my methodology is weak,
