Why fiat deposits take so long?

Newfag here, couple of days ago bought 500 USD worth of BTC on Bittrex using a credit card, ya know, to get a feeling to how everything here works and to then put more money innit, the thing is, the money still hasn't arrived on the exchange, and apparently this is normal??? Why does it take so long for a fiat deposit to occur? It's been 3 days already and I don't know why it takes so long when the usual crypto transfers take a just a couple of minutes

I only used bittrex because I already had an account there, but I'll not use it again in the future, I think I'll go to binance or uniswap
