I've had bitcoin in the past but am just getting into alt-coins now. I'm wondering what coins you recommend investing in for a long term hodl?

Please don't be mean, I'm just a mom who's trying to learn and I didn't want to ask people on Reddit because they seem gay.

I have high homes for XLM right now as a stable longer term hodl. I've had luck with TRX so far too though it has a much worse reputation, it doesn't grow fast but it's relatively stable in its inactive periods and you can get a lot of coins for cheap. Ren is also interesting as defi grows in popularity, but I'm not confident on its future as a coin yet.

GRT might have potential to become huge if it actually becomes the "google" of crypto. Its been hovering just below 1$ for the past week.

I got some DNT since its newish to coinbase. Hoping it pumps up to a few dollars for a nice return.

DNT. Not an alt coin but a token run on eth/Aragon. Apply for a district by preaching an idea to the fuckers. Not financial advice but just a suggestion. No one talks about that particular token here because most of them are pumping rbc/doge.

binance, coinbase

also you are better off looking into straight etherium, aave, elrond etc.

coinbase is too damn expensive in aus. Oh well, if it's listed on a major exchange I shouldn't have trouble finding it if I just switch to a different exchange. thanks

I was thinking about it but so many people here are complaining about the rising gas prices, and coupled with what looks like some scalability issues... I don't think it's a sustainable long-term investment, I imagine it will get replaced by *something* (I don't know) soon.

Right now the board is full of undesirable people from the GME fallout. There is also the scammers trying to sell you worthless coins, just lurk on the board until you learn to know what is real and what is a scheme

FUSION (FSN). It might drop in price the coming days, but will most definetly go back up after that.
It is a coin that is going to start on some projects with the Korean government. And Korean government and private actors have always been a good synergy.

Diversify
Hodl btc if you bought it relatively cheaply. Eth is not going anywhere (from scene), though ADA (Cardano) has a small chance to squeeze ETH a bit.
All depends on Eth 2.0
But again - if you wish to be safe, don’t buy Rubic scam and alike and mainly stick to BTC/Eth/ a bit of cardano possibly
Or buy Doge garbage and hope Elon twits next week on Coke comedown or smth

how do you deal with staking in regards to taxes? Do you manually have to keep track of what the dollar value of your stake reward was on the day you received it?

That has a caveat though... shills come and go, seems like they've got a new coin to the moon every day. But some are just shilled continuously for weeks and months. These few almost always turn out to be very useful. See LINK, Rubtic, now GRT
