The ratio of silver to gold in the earth's crust is 17.5:1. In Roman times, the price ratio was set at 12 to 1. In 1792, the gold/silver price ratio was fixed by law in the United States at 15:1, which meant that one troy ounce of gold was worth 15 troy ounces of silver; a ratio of 15.5:1 was enacted in France in 1803.

My understanding is it varied by location and time period, but there was often an official exchange rate between the two. So one ounce of gold would for example be worth 12 ounces of silver as mandated by the local government. There would often be discrepancies between areas though so merchants would frequently collect whichever metal was considered undervalued in one area and sell it in other jurisdictions.

We can't even UNsafely mine asteroids at this point in time anyway. The reality is we're 50 years away from even considering to retrieve material from a space asteroid, even at the current rate of technological advancement.

We'd need a real breakthrough in throughput of thrust engines to move an object of around 5% the radius of Earth from its stable orbit between Mars & Jupiter into a stable orbit around our own planet. Otherwise you'd need one giant ass spaceship to haul all that robotically-mined space gold back to earth to even hope to make a profit.

Space mining will only become a thing when we have a project large enough to require it. And we currently don't, we still have enough resources right here.

Just kidding man. It's personal preference - I think the manual safety gets in the way of drawing and shooting as fast as possible. If you are high on adrenaline because you're scared of death/about to kill someone you might lose basic motor function/ forget there is a safety. I always recommend people get striker fire guns with no manual safety and just keep it condition 3 when storing it.

My wife and I are home bodies when we aren't at work serving and bartending but when we are home we run a few side gigs to help. So naturally, the private sector couldn't build it, it would have to be a developed nation's government project. Who can afford to do this right now? How could this be "sold" to the masses? Type 54 Norinco - R Guns import. Can't tell, I don't really know anything about Tokarevs. This one is for a transfer (I sell guns/ do transfers).

Pic related is my IWB for the 365 - Crossbreed Holsters with horsehide. Comfy and doesn't smell when sweaty.

Unfortunatly with resources like copper you cant really do that, there are still millions of pounds of copper concentrate in stockpile around the world waiting to be smelted. You might be able to with lead, zinc again is just stored in huge piles or anodes waiting for purchase. It would be fun though to see which commodities did in fact start reacting to those measures, we would know if resource estimates in stockpile were accurate.

Nope there's simply too much but you can speed up the crash of nickels / pennies by doing something similar. There has been coin shortages near me recently so it would probably work to good effect around here
>Take 10% of whatever money you would put into PMs and spend it on commodity metals instead
>Don't actually buy the metal from some dealer, instead go to a bank and take nickels, they're made of 75% nickel 25% copper
>You now have a copper / nickel stack that will hold in value and probably increase as metals get more expensive
>The government has to pay more money to make them than you do to get them at face value
>You can search for silver really quick and instead of returning them just horde them and wait for the collapse of fiat
Probably less appreciation in value than precious metals but they will increase at least slightly and it costs the government for every coin you stack.

That's true, I have a Miia figure that was up to about $600 last I checked, I think I paid $200. But in my case that's one figure out of 20 or 30, I really ought to just sell them and get clinkies.

I think the figures because they don't tarnish after and you can keep the resale value top notch.

This.
>Guys we're short on coins!
>Banks tell government they need more coins
>Government doesn't mint more
>Coin shortage
Entirely artificial, the government is in complete control of minting coins and before all their new world agendas they were considering moving to a more coin-based style of money since coins last longer than bills. They scrapped that at some point, now it's an anti-coin government.
>>27880709
Yes, but it's only a marginal difference. You have to actively be getting as many pennies and nickels (other coins don't matter, trade them in for face to get more nickels) as possible. Nickels would be the easiest one to cause a shortage with as nickel is 9 dollars a pound already.
>In 2006, approximately 1.57 million metric tons of nickel was produced in mines worldwide. Since then, this figure increased to 2.7 million metric tons in 2019
>2.7 million metric tons of nickel produced
That's all you have to remove from the market and you can buy it at face value of 9 dollars a pound. Every little bit helps.
>Inb4 retards say that's impossible to do the market is too big
It's much smaller than the silver market and if all silverchads just got a box of nickels we would already achieve our goal with the nickel market.

>Gonna buy silver shot since it's only 3.99 over spot, it's cheap compared to most stuff now and is easy to break down
>Since it's shot it gets taxes :)
>Ends up making it 70 dollars more expensive
Guess I'm delaying my purchase again, I'm pretty sure silver is about to start going up consistently, it looks like it's the end of the dip.

I don't know, I have a feeling that they dumped it down on purpose to tank the price and make a profit. Now they just bought it up for cheap (hence the spike last minute despite no news) and will ride it up.

There is still fucking tons of fossil fuels left to use for centuries, not to mention abiotic fuels in outer space
I’m all for green energy alternatives but dumping hydrocarbons all together is a scam

I've almost been exclusively stacking mercury dimes. I think they're the most satisfying and practical form to stack silver in
