Have a doge wallet from 2014, when I downloaded Dogecoin core, it sees my balance but my password doesn't work even though I wrote it down.

I tried using the same year wallet but that still didn't work. I don't know if I'm forgetting something

This might work. I've never used the wallet so who knows. It will be possible to recover your wallet using the private key.
