That's not the problem with our healthcare at all. We already spend more per person than any other nation. The problem is that the American Medical Association (doctors' lobby), American Hospital Association (hospitals' lobby), and pharma lobbies are the most powerful and well funded in the US. American hospitals have heaps and heaps of useless administrators with do nothing jobs, american doctors make 2-3x other developed nations' doctors (like europeans), they're allowed to hide prices until after service and can edit bills on the fly. Not to mention they've killed government funding for medical schools and residency slots explicitly to protect jobs and salaries. Insurance is just surface skimming corruption. American doctors and their friends are some of the most corrupt people on this planet. They're not good people. They've put a gate up to stop people from getting into medical schools (it's like half a million in loans) and passing residency to become real doctors (insane hours, low pay/stipend, killed government subsidies to support new residents) and they're using their monopoly to dictate insane prices. Insurance companies are scummy too, but they don't literally hold death over your head when you're in serious trouble because insurance companies aren't the ones who lobbied to gatekeep the power, knowledge, and legal authority to practice medicine
