I’m turning 30 this year. Here are the things I’ve learned that will help you

Avoid getting into group-think mentality no matter what. Sometimes it maybe great to be around others your age and have the same mentality. I could say the same about 4chan. But if you stick with them for long periods of time, you might end up in situations you wish you weren’t. You get easily influenced by bullshit and fooled into doing things you normally wouldn’t. See the mob/cult-mentality on WSB. You are still you. Falling into herd mentality is the most difficult thing to get out once you’re part of it.

Compounding interest is a blessing and a curse. Remember to put in money where compounded interest is in your best favor and avoid compounding costs. Time plays a big factor in this. Not checking your mutual funds fee for x years is detrimental. But having a equity return of x over x amount of years after DCAing your money every week is truly wondrous.

If you see an opportunity before anyone else does. Do take it. Because when everyone else sees the same thing and starts rushing to buy in or do it themselves. The ship has sailed. Be the first to do it and move on once the crowd joins in.

Oh yeah. Read “The Richest Man in Babylon” or listen to it on audio. It’ll help form your fundamentals of personal finance.

I don't know how reality exists either but the undeniable strength of presence that I've felt from what I can only know and call as God is the only thing I've ever been able to really depend on. Early Christianity and Gnosticism is much more similar to the Siberian folk religion that you describe than it is to the latter. Having said that, the organized dogmatic religion also has its place because that's how the scriptures would take root into a tribe's hivemind consciousness. The 2 types of religions that you describe aren't diametrically opposed to each other the way you think they are, but one shifts slowly into the other and vice-versa in different stages of man's spiritual evolution, like the concept of yin and yang. Everything falls under a cohesive unity, but this unity must and should be divided into different elements to maintain coherence, a coherence that drugs destroy.

It's really a lot more layered then you make it out to be, but feeling the presence of God, however, is something anyone with a modicum of humility can bring himself to experience.
