There was a rumor circulating earlier about Chainlink Labs transitioning to a DAO. The main purpose of this was to follow upcoming SEC rules and regulations, but also had the added benefit of creating a seamless environment for enterprise who would otherwise worry about volatility. Chainlink has had a long relationship with Maker, especially after a number of conferences in Asia. Ari opted to incorporate DAI as the defacto stablecoin for Chainlinks new "Stablenodes." However, while this was being implemented in testnet there was a problem with the between Chainlinks VFR and Makers DAI. The bridgenet caused the Solidity compiler to send VFR into a type of DDOS attack essentially freezing the pricefeed. This allowed a venerability where the YFI hacker was able to take advantage of Chainlink's frozen DAI Oracle and opened the door for a creative flashloan attack. Currently there is no word if the other pricefeeds have been affected. But you'll hear soon that Chainlink, and not Yearn Finance, is solely responsible for the lost funds.
