1) use a centralized oracle
2) use a decentralized oracle

If you use a centralized oracle, there's really no point to having your project be a decentralized cryptocurrency at all in the first place. You need to trust that data source and this has led to errors with protocols using centralized oracles that provided faulty data. Many such cases over the past year.

If you use a decentralized oracle, the only viable option is chainlink. Yes, there are "link killers" out there. But they don't have the development or network effects of link. It's 2017's "eth killers" all over again
