AAVE has developers. Whales cant write a proposal to steal all the funds and vote it in. If the system got fucked users will leave, making the governance token less valuable. You want to incentivize user growth so that your investment grows. Also, projects want to own a ton of AAVE in order to get their tokens listed on the platform so that more people are exposed to it and more people lock their token up creating scarcity. You really don't get it.

Don't look at it that way. Look at AAVE's supply and position in the market cap rankings. Now imagine all those market caps in the tens to hundreds of billions of dollars (this is the beginning of alt season, haven't even reached euphoria stage yet). AAVE has a lot of room to grow. If you buy even 10 AAVE, could be worth 100k, or 50k. Then you take profits, and buy crypto in the next cycle.

Or you can find a small market cap coin and maybe 100x your money. But AAVE along with other big names in DeFi are going to explode.

>> No.27675706

>IMO layer 2 solutions will be the next craze this year
Problem there is that L2s are literally token not needed. You don't need to purchase L2 tokens. The DeFi projects like DEXes just need to integrate an L2 solution on their back-end.

Not that L2 projects *can't* moon based purely on marketing and hype. Especially if this lines up with the peak blow-off top of the mania phase later this year.

Highly unlikely, you're talking a market cap comparable to ETH's current market cap. I can see 1k or 1.5k sometime before the end of the year, but it's also unlikely it'll stay when Bitcoin stops going up.

>>27674549
If you don't want to deal with fees then try staking on chains that aren't eth. There are some nice projects on what was "ethereum killers" last market cycle or l2/sidechains that offer good APY. It's especially nice since there's less volume and less whales to take all the profits.

Only a 3x more in the next 11 months? It’s pulled a 10x in 2 months and the most parabolic part of alt season hasn’t even begun yet. I’m not usually a moonboy but you’re thinking way too conservatively here for a project of this magnitude

>> No.27683744

what is AAVE

>> No.27684126

>>27683392
It's conservative but I really don't see another 10x or even 5x in the cards, especially given the current state of ethereum fees. The value locked up in DeFi normalise to the price of ETH hasn't changed all that much recently and even with more price movement it'll probably remain the same.

To be honest I don't see bitcoin doing another x10. I think x4 is much more realistic. Given AAVE shares a space with Sushi, Uni and other projects I think x3 is not an unreasonable estimate.

I'd be happy to be proven wrong and I'm sure in a few years time btc's next bubble will push it higher but I don't see the evidence that it'll continue it's parabolic growth.

The big money hasn't even started to move into it. You shouldn't just compare AAVE to BTC or ETH. AAVE is also a pretty attractive place to just put your Stablecoins and let them sit there. Once bigger banks figure this out the money just pours in.
Also AAVE can be ported to other projects. If Cardano gets smart contracts going, I hope AAVE will be on of the first to go to Cardano

>> No.27684683

>>27684316
When you say big money you mean institutional money? Given that crypto ETFs are still a new thing I find it highly unlikely any institutions are going to be locking up their funds in DeFi.

I've simply seen no evidence that banks have plans to use defi. For such slow moving entities between hearing rumours and it happening it'll be at least a year. There's also little incentive for an institutions to risk participating in governance for what there is little regulatory advice on, at that kind of scale it'll make more sense for them to invest in their own regulatory abiding AMM.
