Supposedly, during that day, according to S3 data, the shorts erased north of 60 of their short interest %. Float is 46.89M. 46.89M * 0.6 = 28.134M shorts covered during monday.

28.134M shorts covered with a volume of 29.7M, of which at most 16.35M even show up in the short volume assuming there was literally 0 shortselling done that day. Only covering.

Let's ignore the anomaly of the missing 12M (which we could accuse S3 of being wrong about or lying about or whatever. there may have been some other hedgie magic used to hide it).

16.35M covers on a volume of 29.7M means 55% of the daily volume would be covering shorts. Meanwhile, we have 10.7M of regular buying and selling. Fidelity reported around 3X as much buying as selling for retailers, so we know retail likely didn't capitulate. The day, the price kept going down, not up.

Where is the buy pressure and volume for the shares to cover 16.35M shares let alone 29.7M?
It's just not there. They are 100% for sure naked covering and likely naked selling on top of that as well. And even then the updated short percentages don't make sense and should be much higher than the 50s. This will all show up as failed to deliver after 3 days, because they have not been able to share out enough stock to deliver the stock they need to for settlement.
