If it was 100% proven the stock would be 20b+ market cap so it still has risk and upside left. Third, there is another common trick dividendtards often use: they call stocks like MSFT "dividend stocks" when they're actually growth stocks in order to boost their yearly numbers past "absolutely abysmal". Without complete details, you should never assume anyone's numbers are accurate, divitard or otherwise.

Basically, dividend stocks pretty much stay flat or go down somewhat year over year, but they pay some paltry sum every so often to convince people to buy in. If people start selling, the dividend payout becomes a higher relative proportion of the cost of the share, which makes it more attractive, so it achieves an equilibrium like that.
Real stocks go up fast over time. Think TSLA doing a 5x (5000% returns) in a year as an extreme, but possible outcome. Good picks can routinely do 30-50% yearly. Bad picks can do -10%. Retarded picks, of course, can do -100%.
