I had a similar experience with chainlink
It was puming and i told some of my mates about it. Id bought for 0.35 cents they all got in at about $2.
It went up to $6 and then dumped hard.
My mates panic sold all of em at like $5.
I caught the virus of panic and tried to do the same but being at work at the time of panic i thought id completed the transaction but hadent.
Heart sank when i noticed that night as thought i was gunna get dumped on hard.
Then seen a little green bar and thought id hold off... green bar grows and i went fuck it im holding.
That was $27 ago (aussie)
