What's up everyone? It's your favorite REQ shill in the house bringing you some monthly updates to a /biz "favorite" Request Network.

Updates & News

Price: Currently around .047 cents
https://www.livecoinwatch.com/price/RequestNetwork-REQ

1) Month of January is completed, less transactions than December but 2nd highest all-time. Keep in mind that there was a lot of test transactions in December. Usage is looking good and slowly climbing.

2) Latest public adopter of Request Invoicing technology is Celo Foundation, alongside the previously known Maker Foundation.

3) 0.23123 ETH is currently in the Burner Address. Close to about ~$380 worth of REQ tokens waiting to be burned. About 53,000 REQ tokens were burned early January.
Contract Address: https://etherscan.io/address/0x7b3c4d90e8af6030d66c07f8f815f9505e379d6f

4) Future token usage updates:
-Governance to be added down the line
-Staking to be added

Currently a while away (probably a year at least), but progress is being made.

5) REQ Foundation has an estimated $30+ million ETH left to bankroll operations (although, with ETH's large increase, probably a lot more).

Every invoice is about .10 cents, if I recall correctly. No matter what, the fees for every invoice is sent to the burner address.

This also prevents spam attacks. Instead of PoW like BTC or ETH, or PoS like Tezos and other cryptos, it uses a Proof or Burn mechanism.

Tell us the current burn rate. Nothing else matters

The image literally shows you. It's based off the # of invoices (which charge .10 cents) per invoice. December is an all-time high, but spiked heavily due to tests.

This fee is stored in ETH, so the ETH <-> REQ ratio obviously changes depending on when the burner contract is called.
