Because VIX went down. What this means is that when everything crashes (with no survivors) IV (implied volatility) grows because people buy options. When everything settles down VIX goes down because people don't wanna pay for options anymore since it's calm.
Basically this means that market demand for the calls you bought was high when you did it and now it's lower, so the price is also lower (in regards to vega). You got a bit IV crushed.
