The work is really simple, you need to be good with stats and machine learning that's it.
No certs, only sk-learn tutorials (not even neural networks) and some kaggle. What helped me is a personal project on github, anything to prove you can do some project on your own and apply analysis.
When you apply, do it online on their shitty platform and then find the recruiting manager or someone in the team on linkedin and email them. This is the only way I found interviews.

If that's not an option for you because of financial reasons and you're not willing to take on any debt (which is what I did, don't regret it at all), get some certifications. If you're a tech guy, start with CompTIA or AWS certifications. Use those credentials to apply for better jobs. If not tech, then look into other certifications or possibly an associate's/technical degree. Or trade school.

You have options. I've been there. Stormed out of a fast food job while struggling to pay rent in college. We're all gonna make it.

11:45 - go for a run, usually 5 or 6km
12:30 - tell boss i'm going for lunch

Security, its genuinely piss easy if you have a slight bit of interest in learning the basics and a bit of common sense. Get some certifications, start with Security+ and pivot from there, a job in a SOC is the best starting point you get to see and do a little bit of everything there is to offer, the busier the better to you learn faster that way, once you feel confident take your CV and throw it into as many jobs that interest you as possible security is so understaffed its crazy. Also get semi-competent with Python, C and Java, and you'll be making 70k+ on the low end within 3 years if your good.

An endpoint monitoring system is something completely separate from MS Teams, it'll be a program more than likely visible on your task manager if its there at all, its monitors every section of your machine for behavior that is seen as outside normal parameters and creates alerts for your companies security team to review.

A random unknown script being started for no reason will usually always result in an alert, which will put you in hot water, as they'll be able to see how it got onto the machine, how it was started and what it was trying to do. The amount of data they are able collect is staggering.

If it is present it will be running under any number of names but the most common ones are CarbonBlack and Crowdstrike, so you'll either see CB.exe or CS.exe or any variation on those names. If you don't see that, its possible they aren't running it or its being run silently to prevent malware from fucking with it or not executing when its seen.
