GME going from 70 to 400$ last week was not a short squeeze. It was simply a pump due to the attention the stock received from retail investors . A PUMP. More people buy, price goes up.

This was not a short squeeze because Hedge funds still need to close their positions, they still need to buy a fuck load of share. When they do, price will skyrocket.

OP is right that the squeeze has not happened, but unfortunately the strategy WS pulled last week may have worked. They restricted the purchase of shares which brought the price down and that made people nervous. Then they pretended that the people were moving to silver which anyone that knows anything knows that silver would be a retarded move. The next day, Silver went down. That made people even more nervous and demoralized.

The short squeeze has not happened yet, but the question is "will the faggots that got out come back in?"

Bought in just before the squeeze, sold for a loss as soon as I realized that nobody knew what the fuck they were talking about and were just parroting what they got told, more specifically 2 things:

The trick is that if hedgies still haven't managed to cover they shorts, they will have to buy them. People do not count on endless slow raise, but a sudden buying off as hedges start covering the shorts. With few people willing to sell it for cheap, the price will go up very fast, and then everyone will be able to sell them shares for these 1000 or so, because they are forced to buy and there is no reason for people to sell at much lower at moment like that. This is what makes it different from pump and dump schemes.
However this all can only work if we assume the shorts are still not covered and they won't do something tricky to avoid this runaway squeeze.

What retard probably meant was that there was a short attack, which doesn't have concrete language to describe it because it's more like a conspiracy theory, or an open secret among institutions. Most likely whoever said this got his wires crossed when people were talking about options being traded to take advantage of the price hike, and assumed they were tied together.

It's true that GME is/was under a short attack, and a lot of the trades we are seeing are just options. It's also true that whoever used the term "short ladder attack" was probably a newbie who didn't understand what he was saying.
