Something interesting I noticed on tdameritrade is their sell limit ceilings for the memestocks.

A few days ago I could have a sell limit order for 1 GME priced at 1300 because 1400 was the ceiling they allowed.

Now because it is under $100 the max i can put a sell limit is at $300.

However other stock such as NOK for example i can increase my sell ceiling by 30x and sell 1 stock for $150.

To me logically, this tells me they are placing a ceiling on when and if the short squeeze happens. Shouldn't you be able to set your own sell limit?

Something interesting I noticed on tdameritrade is their sell limit ceilings for the memestocks.

A few days ago I could have a sell limit order for 1 GME priced at 1300 because 1400 was the ceiling they allowed.

Now because it is under $100 the max i can put a sell limit is at $300.

However other stock such as NOK for example i can increase my sell ceiling by 30x and sell 1 stock for $150.

You wouldn’t want someone from one exchange offering a stock for short sale for say 19.95 while there is a bid on another exchange to buy for 20.

They need to keep all the exchanges in sync that is all this is that was people aren’t trying to arbitrage the exchanges. They do that, it’s called high frequency trading. But the displayed prices and executed sales most for sequentially through the order book regardless of the exchange they are on.

Remember when you could buy. training center on one exchange and sell it on another without the price moving and make money cause the order books and therefore prices are different? They don’t want that in a legitimate market. It’s a section of the trading world to rectify that and keep it consistent no matter where you are.
