27495115 No.27495115 [Reply] [Original]

ETH is a literally shitcoin. I'm currently developing a dapp on Ethereum, literally 5 lines of codes cost $10 in ETH.

The platform is unusable. I'm literally going to have to build on Cardano or Algorand. I JUST CAN NOT USE THIS SHITEREUM PLATFORM

a smart contract is transactional, it's built in functions, depending on your usecase, and users call 1 function at a time.

So like, my simplest function, 9-lines, literally just receive a payment and produce an event, store literally nothing, costs 51,417 gas, almost nothing but it costs $8 right now.

It's literally impossible to build on. Useless shit. I'm forced to wait for Cardano, build on fucking Polka or Algo, or use a Layer2 that fucks up some stuff.

thanks. Yeah, ADA is scalable, like ALGO, so interacting with the smart contracts should not cost more than cents.
> i didnt realise actually writing lines of code would cost money on eth
I was only refering to calling a simple function of a deployed smart contract, $8. I DID NOT EVEN TELL YOU ABOUT THE DEPLOYMENT COST: 1.2M gas for a 15 function smart contract, literally 0.32 ETH in fees, FUCKING $500 AHAHAHAH

Yeah of course we can tests things even locally for free. But deploying any meaningful smart contract is costing $300 minimum.

Yeah Ethereum is doomed. It needs scalability now, not in 2022-2023

since you sound like an actually smart person who's just frustrated with fees:
$300 contract deployment is nothing for the companies/firms who will be building the meaningful contracts. hell that isn't even that expensive for individuals if you're building something valuable.
furthermore, when the DEXs and other high-throughput dApps are on L2 (in a few months) congestion for things like contract deployment will fall substantially. with sharding and the various EIPs in the pipeline fees will fall even more.
by the time DeFi is gaining mainstream attention, fees will be manageable. that's when you'll see ETH and the rest of the ecosystem fly past $1T market cap, I'm guessing late this year but it could take longer. in the meantime we're still early and have time to accumulate.
you know how markets are good at pricing things in? that's what's happening with ETH now, despite sky-high fees that are serving to block poorfags from the network. the market is betting on ETH hegemony as the dominant smart contract platform for the upcoming smart contract revolution, aka the digitization of the entire global economy. capitulate or be left behind.
