it's not for adhd riddled zoomies, progress is slow and steady, but eth is already at it's breaking point, it will be flipped by a superior project eventually, I don't see why it won't be cardano, which means we could see at least $3-4.

Don't expect some crazy 100x shit at this point, but 10x is definitely possible. I think we could hit maybe $1 at least this year

the ADA bros i talked to here last night gave me a big redpill on the smart contract implications it has and it gave me an immediate pulsating erection. I honestly bought in a while ago just bc i was reading that it had good tech similar to ETH but after all the insane gas fees on Uniswap that everyone has been paying lately it seems only natural that another currency would come along and undercut that. I'm pretty heavy in ETH too but the more I read about cardano the more I want to move my long-term investment more into ADA. Also Charles Hoskinson is a fuckin baller

How sustained will this current rise of ADA be do you think. Your private key stays on your ledger, when you connect to adalite or yoroi you only give them your public key which is how you send your ada from an exchange to your ledger. Basically adalite and yoroi just tell you what your public key is, and say if you want to send your ADA back to an exchange or another address you will use either adalite or yoroi and then you will be prompted on your ledger to verify everything. If you watch a couple vids on youtube you'll understand much better. Just search using ledger with yoroi/ adalite.

I think Cardano will be great for longterm growth potential.

However, how do any of you guys get over the fact the contract language is some meme Haskell shit w/ "Plutus"? That's gonna severely hinder adoption of their smart contract language.

Nobody doubts Ethereum made a lot of mistakes (its smart contract stuff is an amateur effort at best) but I think IOHK are pushing too far if they think they'll appeal to the masses with a smart contract language deep-rooted in the Haskell ecosystem.

It's a genuine concern for me, someone who works with Haskellers and knows they have this tendency to be riddled with "Not Invented Here" syndrome which practically cripples all of their development efforts. They're blind to reality.

I dunno how they'll manage to pull that off securely.

I don't even think ERC-20 is good tech. Solidity was designed by Gavin Wood writing an example contract and designing his shitlang around that. It's really worrying when there's no compelling examples of a non-meta decentralised app on Ethereum. I look at all these ERC-20 tokens and their landing pages are just riddled with vague allusions to technology and finance. UNI is doing well but that's a meta service, literally a decentralised exchange for the platform.

I'll probably put money on Ada since I like the technology, I just fear it's gonna cripple itself with Haskeller delusion. They're not pragmatic people.

bitcoin is gold. eth is a tool, and ada will kill eth because it's a better tool. btc doesn't beat everything else because it's not in competition with everything else. it's its own thing and has value in its own right.
>>27448810
>I don't even think ERC-20 is good tech
the point is it transitions those projects over to a cheaper alternative seamlessly. they'll have to change to something eventually and ADA is perfectly teed up to take over the scene. even if eth 2.0 is good, it's a joke because it'll be beaten to the finish line by its competitors 2-3 years before it comes out, if it ever does lol.

Thanks for clarifying. For some reason, in my mind, I always interpreted "legacy [programming] languages" as meaning non-blockchain languages. The adoption of EVM tech seamlessly clears a lot up for me.

Cardano seems like a pretty safe bet for longterm. Cheers.

Simple.
In most countries swapping from crypto to crypto isn't a taxable event (just don't be a burger).
While in most countries swapping from crypto to fiat (but not from fiat to crypto) is a taxable event.
If you're used to swap between crypto by going into fiat instead of, say, BTC like any normal person, you're gonna have to file hundreds of taxable operations and compute tons of shit that would scare a professional accountant (mostly because of the evolving fractional total invested, just remember it's always more complex than you think and if you made one small mistake you'll be accused of falsifying your tax declarations and have to pay fines)

Capital gains, yes, but the fact that you only made losses is irrelevant. you still have to declare every operations and if you value your time this will cost you way more that what little tax you would have made by being into profits.
Or maybe you can find a software tool that can do it for you by importing a register/ledger of operations from your CEX.

it's risk/reward to buy breakouts. i do it all the time with 3x leverage and i make pretty good money doing it. i wouldn't recommend fomo'ing into every green dildo, but ADA will break 45-50 cents in the coming days, short term price movements wont mean much anyway once this thing gets listed on coinbase and pumps to $1-3.

buying under 50 cents will give you a free 3-6x and even more if you're in a leveraged long position.
