No, the hedge funds can declare bankruptcy, and they go to liquidation. The broker is on the line for any calls they are obligated to fulfill or return (if they facilitated the short between the hedge and the original owner). I bought some at <$10, had around 1000 shares (so ~10K invested). I thought it was going to go to $300-$400 on the squeeze. On Thursday, as I watched the price rocket up and NYSE issued like 4 back-to-back LULD calls, I got greedy. I deleted my limit orders. "If this goes to 5K like le epic redditors say, I will be a multi-millionaire and can tell my boss to finally go fuck himself", I thought. We didn't get the squeeze, but I should have taken the ~$350 on the bouce right then and there. Paid off the house, bought a new car, bought some BTC.

Today was the day I capitulated after seeing greedy pornstars and strippers shilling their 2-share stacks and foaming at the mouth with schizophrenic price forecasts like 50K per share. Got out with $160K profit by the end of day. Profit is profit, but man does it hurt knowing I gave up 200K from the peak because I wanted to shoot for the multi-million moon.

Everybody thought it would be last Friday or sometime this week but it just keeps falling and shilling is going crazy and most people can't easily buy so... basically we're fucked. We caught them off guard last week which is why it went up so high on Wednesday but after that they got their shit together and stalled us and are slowly bleeding us out.

If all the whales and literally everyone that holds GME right now continues to hold for 2 weeks or more, however long it takes, it MIGHT squeeze again and moon to $500+.
