Can someone redpill me on XSN.... I've just done a little research and it seems pretty straightforward in the problem its solves. Don't know if the masternode setup is too good to be true though

Don't you think if a fork of DASH was the future that everyone would be clamoring to build on the tech? It's a scam. Look at the lead, he's a biology major. I dissected a frog in jr. high, maybe you wanna buy my fork of DASH shitcoin?

Hey man no need to attack the lead on a personal level. We all take different paths through life, and many of us change our passion at a later date.

It would be really sad if you made a decision early in life and you are forced to stick with it.

Imagine if you invested in a dead project like Blocknet and couldn't ever appreciate the progress made in a nother project? Seems pretty empty to me

What is this dumb shit? Do you understand that the evolution already took place? Ethereum was built because of the limitations of UTXO technology. Ethereum didn't start out as UTXO and "upgrade." It was always built to handle complex conditional logic.

This is a DASH fork led by a biology major who exit scammed PoSW. Stop trying to dump your bags on unsuspecting people.

The shilling gets more and more desperate everyday. I would hate it too if I was a total fucking moron and invested in a DASH fork from a Biology major scammer and if someone went on my shitcoin thread and told everyone the truth. I mean, anyone can do their own research and find out that:

1) The devs exit scammed PoSW
2) The chain is a fork of DASH

I know that shills don't want that information to be revealed, but you can't deny the truth. So you have to deal with it. I know it hurts, but sometimes that's just the way life is.

Deal with it.

Stakenet is developed by X9, a blockchain development team who were initially contracted to create a dedicated coin for a staking service/CEX called PoSWExchange. CEXs based around altcoins were a trend back in early 2017, and PoSW Coin was like an early form of BNB. You could stake dozens of popular PoS coins on PoSWExchange, trade them, and play with coin faucets.
PoSW Coin was shilled heavily on /biz/ around April 2017. It was 3c, and it pumped to 25c.
In late April 2017, PoSWExchange's centralized service suffered a security breach and they were forced to delist PIVX - the most traded coin on the exchange. The price crashed. After this point, the exchange more or less gave up and started delisting everything. There was complete radio silence for about 3-4 months and PoSW was assumed dead.
X9 had a lot of its own ideas for its own coin, and it decided to take over control of PoSW Coin in September 2017. They were in good standing with the community, so instead of making a new coin, they relaunched the coin as "PoSW 2.0", spent a lot of Q4 2017 presenting the framework of what they were going to build, and announced that the new coin would be called Stakenet/XSN. The coin swap transpired on Livecoin in March of 2018.

Either thanks to X9 breathing life into PoSW or due to how wildly bullish late 2017 was, PoSW Coin began to pump in October 2017. At the peak of the altcoin GBR in early 2018, PoSW Coin broke $1. (remember: /biz/ had completely forgotten about this coin after it pumped to 25c and crashed <- the 'posw exit scam' would have had to have occurred at 25c)
Stakenet launched at the onset of the bear market, right around the time that Bitconnect's website 404'd and BCC crashed from $400+ to nothing.
There were 3 waves of coin swaps. Everyone was repeatedly reminded to partake. The final swaps were over by early May 2018. Some missed the swap. They were pissed.
May 2018 was when TPoS debuted. You could trustlessly cold stake with it.
June 2018 saw a lot of hype for XSN Cloud, which launched July 5 2018. Stakenet was mentioned on nasdaq.com due to a high-profile seed investor taking on an advisory position.
In a way, XSN Cloud is the spiritual successor of PoSWExchange, minus trading orderbooks and dozens of shitcoins.
Q3 2018 was when X9 recruited a lot of serious talent and added a lot of functionality to XSN Cloud.
Q4 2018 was when MNaaS debuted, they got Lightning swaps for XSN/LTC up and running, they partnered with the LTC Foundation, and BTC crashed to $3k.
Here's the LN swap guide from November 2018.

XSN continued to progress through 2019. It got working Ledger/Trezor integration and listed on Coinall and ABCC in Q1, leading to a healthy pump.
The multi-currency light wallet went into early testing in Q2 2019, and it was announced (May 2019?) that ETH integration would become an integral part of the DEX.
The DEX went into private beta testing in Q3 2019. You needed both XSN and LTC, then you had to open channels for both, then you needed a "swap buddy" to execute the (.0001 XSN) trade with.

Late 2018/early 2019 was a tough time to be in crypto (unless you were buying). The vast majority of 2017 altcoins didn't survive 2018. Cryptopia was, for many altcoins, the only exchange they had.
The only ones doing ok were Binance and Bitmex.
BTC was in the gutter. Bill Gates and Warren Buffett had already finished fudding it. The media was writing obituaries for it again. Alts disappeared into thin air (and with it, all the shills - /biz/ was very slow). More and more CEXs started geoblocking and doing mandatory KYC.
Stakenet, on the other hand, was doing stuff like helping the Litecoin Foundation upgrade LTC to Lightning Network. Their resolve at this time was remarkable, as they were on a shoestring budget and they placed their bets entirely on BTC coming back, winning the fork war, alts coming back, and LN and L2 solutions being adopted... And they were right.

XSN has had a presence on /biz/ since its inception, but its in a strange spot.
It launched at the onset of a bear market, when major CEXs were, if anything, delisting altcoins left and right and trimming any potential fat they could to stay lean and survive.
See, Binance rose to prominence by listing as many coins as it could and giving out generous rewards in BNB. By the time XSN launched, Binance had achieved dominance among the CEXs. It sought to make itself the world-class CEX and, in doing so, imposed its own sense of QC on what altcoins were legit and which ones weren't. It became much more strict on what it would and would not list, and for awhile that was the way some people would gauge a coin's legitimacy.
Everyone else in alts was bleeding at the time and the last thing they wanted to hear about was some new coin.
Add to that, news that pumps a coin during a bull market (development progress, exchange listings, etc) doesn't make a difference in a bear market. Everyone was far more concerned about whether or not BTC would survive or where it would bottom out.

So here, you have this small skunkworks team that doesn't have a whole lot of money, doing all of this cool, impressive stuff when everything else is dying, but exchanges didn't care because altcoin trading volume was meh and people didn't care because they were hungover from shitty alts. The honest truth of the matter was that 90% of the altcoin discussion had online back then was artificial and paid for.

This is where the community got involved. You just had a lot of people who saw all this progress being made on something brilliant, but it was a depressing warzone and any time you tried to bring up XSN you sounded like a deluded schizo.

But here we are in 2021 and L2 DEXs have become a mainstream point of discussion in the crypto industry... Interesting.

Why the FUD?
Yes FUD is inevitable, but in Stakenet's case, it is quite excessive.
There are plenty of suspects, some old, some more recent. Whales who sold the absolute bottom. Team members who ragequit. Bagholders, even developers, of other competing projects. Whales. Shitposters.
Does it even matter? They can't even stop anyone from shilling XSN here.
