I am kind of a newbie but i'm wondering how did retail investors knew for sure that GAME STOP was shorted, like where do you see it?

Also are there any other companies shorted to the same degree as game stop was?

It has been literally posted on /smg/ here for like almost a year. I learned about it in Sept. when I first started coming here. People saw that it was the most heavily shorted company by far and put 2+2 together and realized the possibility of a short squeeze was very possible.

people were shilling it here in august. there were threads every day full of coomcats begging gamestop to "CLOSE OVER 9" "CLOSE OVER 10" etc. for weeks. I barely listened to them and as such don't have that much GME at the moment but they were here a long time ago

Yes it is public knowledge, theres a jpg. floating around with a list of them all. Shouldn't be hard to find however do not expect what's happening to GME to happen to every shorted stock. AMC might pop off it might not, also depends heavily on how much the market makers manipulate this shit show more.
