you can always delegate if you cant afford your own node.
also with the new upgrade we will get governance so node operators will be able to vote on required amount to run a node and very likely vote to lower it.

right now we have 792 nodes in the network.

Yeah but after that, do I need a PC to run full time or some shit?

Or is it just basically staking for months for APY?

And how much gains can I expect for 4000 Avax and how long to I need to lock my cock in a cage?

>> No.27244516

>>27244149
>do I need a PC to run full time or some shit?
just sign up for a VPS, I use Vultr and it costs me like 20 bucks a month. very easy to set up.
been using it for months and my uptime was always 99% - 100%
you could also run it on a raspi4 at home if your internet is good and stable.
>Or is it just basically staking for months for APY?
you can stake for however long you want bro, minimum is 2 weeks and maximum is 1 year.

>And how much gains can I expect for 4000 Avax
around 16 AVAX a month which is like 230 bucks at current prices.

>> No.27244585

>>27244516
so theoretically if you get to like 10,000 avax some day,

you would make 12% net profits per year at 1,200 AVAX interest per year?

Final 2 questions:

- Is Avax wallet risk-free and 100% trustworthy

- If you stake on Avax wallet instead of running a node, whats the APY you make for 12 months per 1000 avax?

>> No.27245350

>>27245165
>Is Avax wallet risk-free and 100% trustworthy
yes, for additional security you can also use a ledger
>If you stake on Avax wallet instead of running a node
thats the same thing bro
basically your node doesnt hold any keys and you interact with the P chain through the wallet.

>> No.27245481

>>27245165
>- Is Avax wallet risk-free and 100% trustworthy
As any other.
>- If you stake on Avax wallet instead of running a node, whats the APY you make for 12 months per 1000 avax?
Minimum fee for delegating is 2% of the reward, some nodes set it higher. So you'd be getting 98 AVAX if I haven't fucked up, correct me if I'm wrong.

I run it on a Raspberry pi at home, the hardware requirement is as low as it can be. Although I only have 95% uptime because I'm routing through a VPN

>What's the catch?
Reward will come down in the future, this reward rate is the highest it'll ever be, similar to the first 4 years of BTC.
