Holy fuck bud you gotta be kidding. Part of the value of an option is how much time is left until it expires. Makes sense right? An option that gives you a month to make money is more valuable than an option that gives you a week to make money. Theta is an exponential decay and you can find the equation/graphs of how it looks. Every day your option will become less valuable (theta decay) unless the price moves in your favor. The reason some puts increased in value was the implied volatility increased.
