Yes, but as you mention it is on the minds. And the minds are in a negative wave lately. I do not believe BTC will fail but I do not believe it needs to have such a high valuation so early on. The possibility of a rebound as the value is lower is most certain especially as players with large capital are now watching the game. But talking about 5$ or 50$ is really far apart. lets say 5million coins in the active float, at 5$ thats only 25million $ to move it around and bounce a price up hard buying. With all the fiat flooded into this system since the 70s and super express since 2008, it only makes it easier to absorb BTC. Also this already got absorbed a shit load of coins on the first MTGOX hack back in 2011 when it fell from 30$ range to 2.xx$. They were shilling hard on the forums to get people to sell and sell they did in epic volume.

TL;DR No reason it can't go under 100$ in the short term as long as people keep having a negative outlook.
Heartbleed isn't helping anything either. Nor is the chinese freezing bank accounts.

>> No.272812

>>272802
Plus a capitulation moment going under 100$ for a bit will clear weak hands as we move into the future. I would love to buy some under 100$ just to hold long term something like 2020$ or even just try to sell profits to keep free coins house money.

In the short term though I think it deserves to get blown the fuck out to really test the fortitude of the foundation.

This is an accumulators dream come true, but that accumulation everyone keeps saying will happen overnight might actually take longer than anyone expected. As the main driver of accumulation of coins is raked in by small fees from money transaction, and not as mass people HOLDING it as a store of value. As the coins are micro fractional accumulated by the big players in the industry offering instant money transfer, the valuation can then grow proper with a massive foundation of support not built on hopes and dreams.

>> No.272815

>>272802
But I think most people are negative about Bitcoin because they don't want to admit to themselves or are spiteful about missing the boat on the initial jump above 1K. As the price drops, even further into pretty affordable territory, won't that trigger some elasticity?

Sorry, I'm still new to the finance world, trying to learn and get involved. Essentially, what you're saying is that you believe it may be in the best interest of the longterm investor to see how bitcoin handles a blow out (crashing down really low?) which, if it behaves favorably, starting to build itself back up, you believe it may be a solid long-term investment?

>> No.272846

272849

>>272821
Yes basically. Except more for the fact that bitcoin can only go so low before its overall value makes it able for very big players to scoop up large amounts of coins. They can not absorb coins WITHOUT a negative overtone in the main minds of people playing the game. Such as in 2011 when everyone was dumping after the hack, HUGE VOLUME DAYS such as 500k+ coins, per day. Under 5$
You'll always see volume lower and lower as price goes higher and higher. Even on this pullback its still less volume than other pullbacks.
This has always been about accumulation ever since big players are involved. Too many rich eyes are now watching and it wont go as low as before without a major risk to the code itself rather than just another exchange hacking. Who knows if that will happen. If the technology just keeps puttering along its no reason it can sustain any low price for a long period of time. Simple accumulation moving forward and that has already taken place will prevent that.
This does not prevent you from actively trading and trying to accumulate % profit into free coins for long term storage. Or even just buying outright coins at any price.
But since things move in ebb and flow. Since we are in a negative part of this flow, it will go until it doesn't. Things will not happen overnight and of course things get over blown on both the upside and downside.
But this is not a free issue stock or fiat currency. It is a limited resource that can and is being actively accumulated. POWER PLAYERS with huge cash who know the game already and run the game. So while it is getting blown out in the short term, it is being manipulated and accumulated for the 'powers to be' at every instance.

Gentlemen, please. Yes, the bitcoin will continue to drop, may be even to levels below $100.
But it will not stay there, it will not die.
Why?
As long as bitcoin is the official currency of the black market, it will have value. The day the bitcoin dies is the day when it loses anonymity and function for black market purposes. But until that happens, the bitcoin will be used and thus have value.

So what to do now?
Wait. Wait until it drops to below $100, maybe see how low it goes, then buy in bulk and wait some more. If you have the guts and no qualms, maybe even convert some of the assets into contraband to sell for profit.

And to those that bought low and held past the $1000 mark and then lost it all because you didn't sell your bitcoin for hope of future profits, you learned a lesson. The lesson is this: When you are dealing with an asset with high variability that is making money, remember that pigs get slaughtered.

You're a poor person and clearly do not get it.

It would be very hard for it to drop to 1$ ever again, let alone a penny. Do you even understand 'zero'? The only way it would be zero is if everyone abandoned the code and didn't use it at all.

Do you deny the accumulating? If there is no accumulating then why is volume decreasing constantly. Why is it not at 2$ right now like 2011 with 500k coins trading a day.

So when Bitcoin benefits from the genuine utility of being able to transact value instantly and cheaply, and has upside potential as a store of value better than gold, and I want to buy a shit load because Bitcoin is blatantly undervalued and you'd realise this if you spent a minute thinking about how many people POTENTIALLY could be using this, and how much money people are LIKELY to put into the system if they do, how is this not now an investment by your very own definition.

It's more of an investment than a fucking stock - how do you know a company will be able to innovate any further? How do you know Steve Jobs won't die? How do you know the incumbent won't be out-innovated by smaller companies?

There's no certainty to ANY value of money. Bitcoin is volatile but as a technological concept and future financial tool, it definitely has value and that exceeds the current valuation.

It's an investment, you're just too poor and eatin' dem sour grapes to invest.

The reason i think you are this simple minded person who doesn't really understand volatility or how to profit from it, is because you then go on to say this.
