Sup bros. The space is moving at an alarming pace nowadays. Every day new projects pop up and it seems to get harder and harder every day to pick the good from the bad.

I actually miss the bear market because we used to work together to find legit projects. Now its just craziness with new fags pumping thier bags.

I miss the old days bros.

I feel this. There's so much stuff coming out every day that I can hardly keep up with it let alone research it all and determine what's legit. It takes forever to sift through all the crap to find good stuff that's up and coming. I should just get into pump and dumps for a while to make some money and just let my long holds ride.

Link is such a sure thing at this point I'm focusing on smaller DeFi projects that will eventually moon harder than LINK even.

YGY, XSN, BAO, Enjin, 0xBTC, CORE, SNX (got a fat bag), PNK, and a bunch of micro caps noone’s ever heard of.

I’m here sometimes mainly from ~10-12 years ago. It's kind of the same here but also very different.

The same is instead of every thread about whatever crypto about to blow up, it was biotech and maybe a company was about to pass phase 3 trials to cure whatever.

The different as it was way more cooperative back then like OP says. It was way more us vs everyone else. Much like current WSB. Now it's mainly pumping BS plays.

People don't want to miss out on the next bitcoin, tesla, or now gamestop. Combined with greed/desperation from the economic ruin the government forced on us due to covid, I could see many flocking to AMC, BB, NOK, etc to try and recreate what happened here. The way I see it, they can coexist at least for a while. The whole eth killer thesis falls flat because eth has a established dev community and the majority of users. (Ie. Network effect) AVAX's ethereum bridge is genius because it deals with both of those issues at once. Since eth's evm exists on the c-chain, any ethereum developer can deploy on AVAX with zero effort. At the same time, since the bridge effectively connects the two eco systems together, (erc 20 tokens can be transferred for example), said developer can tap into eths massive userbase.

The truth that no one will tell you is, yes you're late. /biz/ bought this shit up for pennies and are sitting on large stacks. Unless you have $200k to invest right now it isn't a worthy buy. There are plenty more opportunities to make it off other DeFi altcoins. LINK will maybe do a 5-10x at best but that's literally nothing compared to what other shitcoins can still do. If you still want to get a bag I would suggest waiting over the next month and seeing what BTC does. BTC will most likely either crab, dump or pump which at all points LINK would keep bleeding and you can set your entries for $10-$15.

I am not mentally ill. I represent the true ogs who never sold. I represent those that saw links potential and never will sell the opportunity to create generational wealth. Those with 50k+ stacks have a duty to hold.

You will never ever convince me to sell with that shit strategy. If I played it right I would have at least 75k link atm and be a full colonel. I am not mentally ill I just know how bad it fucking feels to grow up poor and wageslave all day

I'm guessing the vast majority of your net worth is in Link. If a black swan event happens then you lose most of your wealth. Again look at it from a risk management perspective. Should 90% of your portfolio be in a high risk investment? No, especially if you're dealing with millions. The object should be to minimize risk.

For example I am going to cash out some at $50. Am I going to buy a lambo with it? No, I'm going to move it to BTC. I'm still making gains just in a less risky environment. You could do that right now if you sell 100k's worth. Think about it like that

Selling 25% of your stack to cover living expenses for the next 5-10 while waiting Link to moon is not exactly selling your golden ticket to financial freedom you dumb meme frog poster

"but muh colonel, muh captain ranks"

Take a break from the cancer that is Chainlink twitter community. The fact that you are talking as if 10k/25% fluctuation up and down in your stack makes a world of difference means that your belief in this project, for long term, is probably not much above $50 in the next 5 years.

Unironically this. I’ve held since 2017 and haven’t sold a single link because I don’t really need to. I am already sitting in 150k in cash and make 200k a year running my own business, so why sell any link since really that won’t do shit for me. It’s less about greed and more about if I don’t need the cash, then it really does nothing for me to sell. 25, 50, 75 are retarded. The first price I’d be understanding if an OG sold at would be 100. But even then, most of us have been accumulating for staking. Do any of you also hold LP?

If it’s not generational changing, I’m not fucking selling. It’s not about the cult mentality, I honestly truly feel nothing when my portfolio swings hundreds of thousands

You are talking logical fallacies yourself. If it's truly generational wealth prices you are waiting, it doesn't make a difference if you sell 10 to 20% of your stack, because you would still be making it 10x

You are not talking about generational wealth if you are shaming people who sell like even 1/5th or 1/4th of their stack, in the end it should not be making a difference

Pic related is how small number of people you are talking about with a total holders: 318,867

At where point you draw the line (in regards to this project) 200 individuals? 300 individuals? 500 individuals?

Then you also admit that this project will never reach Ethereum -like price discovery/success, those people with measly 10k stacks will never be making any substantial amount of money

This is the "LINK OG" mindset. It is a scenario where 100-200 individuals are able to sell at the top in a 10 minute price discovery run up to the lamboland, after that it crashes to sub $1 prices and nobody else will ever make it. The true OGs mentality is to not even believe in this project

See those guys with 10k stack? According to Link OGs: they will never make it. Only few hundred individuals. This is not Ethereum, Antshares, Bitcoin or even Litecoin, only a small circle of 50-100 individuals are going to make it according to Link OG mentality (out of those +300k wallets).

Personally I’m looking to make high 7 to low-mid 8 figures as my form of making it. If we define making it though as 1M+, I think we’ll see many link millionaires in this next bubble year alone
Selling link for anything less than 3 digits would be moronic. Even a former fund manager for one of the biggest sovereign wealth funds in the world told me yesterday that he’s not selling his Link even if it hits 1k (dude is in his early 60s) since from his own analysis in the next 5-10 years it’ll be multiples of that
I’ll prob sell a portion between 300-1200, and stake the rest with LinkPool. Until then, I already have enough cash to last me a few years like I mentioned before. Which is why I’m personally not selling until we hit those targets at least

However, this pleasure was fated to remain short lived and bittersweet, for I must also admit to you, regardless of what distress it may cause to you, knowing you went to great trouble to pen it and deliver it to me, that I in fact declined to open it and refused to read the message contained within. Surmising your intentions, there exists no doubt in my heart regarding your sincere worries for my financial well being, but alas your attempts to convince me to modify my investment strategies shall regretfully remain futile, as my stubbornness in this matter has indeed been sealed irrevocably and no other voice shall rock its imperturbable foundations. Allow me then to reiterate my will once more, and do your best to forever remember it for no change will follow: I shan't part ways with my beloved asset for it is my utmost belief that I have invested wisely and foresee infinite potential in its future, and therefore no other possession in this world shall change my decision, not even a mountain of gold! Was just thinking this, been active on /biz/ since 2015. So much has changed. Today I saw someone saying "Is Litecoin real? No one ever talks about it here". I remember when LTC, next to BTC and ETH was a king.

I turned about $20k profit in 2017 from crypto, and had to watch $70k in gains dissapear over the 2017/2018 period, as I was overseas and couldn't get my 2FA code via text. Quit crypto for a good while. Just checked coinspot earlier this month and saw my leftover holdings hit about $40k, and cashed the fuck out.

Now dipping back in, it's glorious to know my stinky linkies gave me healthy profit in the end. Just picked up some UNI, $50 over the next couple of months is a 100% reasonable and achievable price point.

I miss the old /biz/, I miss sminem and the bogs and the flippening threads and the bitconnect shilling, but it is what it is.

Oldfags, do you see pow completely disappearing in favor of pos in future coins? Doesn't it seem like pow is still the best way to create a first batch of coins while pos is what you should transition to after you already have that bunch created? Issuing entire first batch by coin creator isn't ideal surely

I miss the old days a bit but don't miss the suffering I was going through when I decided to go all in Link.
Hearing people say 1k is a make it stack makes me feel alienated from /biz/

What am I supposed to do now that I made it?
I have a strange Stockholm syndrome with my wage slave work I invested 10 years of my life into and can't quit.
This work caused multiple burnouts and enough suffering to make me look for an exit and find /biz/ and Link, but now that I made it and don't need the work it feels like such a waste.
I wasted the best 10 years of my life on it and if I leave it will be all for nothing, and there will be no going back.
But at the same time not caring anymore and working remotely has greatly improved my life, but I just wish I could take a few years of vacation to get back all the lost time.
But if I do that and discovered I still want to continue my previous work I won't be able to go back.

i suggest that you slowly shift your daily focus to satisfying yourself outside of career. i started to do that on the first pump to 20, bought myself some nice things with my wages (tools for my hobby, upgraded laptop), started to eat more and sleep more, and started spending more time relaxing. the cumulative effect from that and the pump made me slack off at work and eventually i asked my employer for a 30% raise, which he very happily obliged. the 6 months hence, i've totally fucked off from giving a shit about work, but paradoxically i do a better job and more clients ask for me by name. a couple weeks ago i started to feel the itch to quit again, so i told my employer that he had to pay me more because i'm starting to value my time quite a lot, and it's okay if he can't afford me. i got another 33% raise out of that play, and i'm going to use it to buy more shitcoins and a new truck so that i can be closer to being totally independent from my current career.
honestly, loosen up and start acting like an entitled fucker, the normies in your life will give you a lot of latitude to do your own thing and your path will become much clearer.

If I had known all it took was to not care and ignore everything that I don't care about and is not my official task my life would have been a lot easier.
But I still lose my precious time on a work that pays less than what the interest from my wealth can generate.
The only thing that changed is that I became more of a NEET mainly watching vtubers and almost never going outside.
And I somehow have less time than before to do fun things because when I am not working, I am focusing on learning wealth management and spend time on speculating each day.
I also spent 1 month doing my tax reporting preparations to avoid problems when the tax office suddenly realizes I have millions.
I hope they won't cause too much trouble when they find out they can't tax it...

The suits will never adjust anything because I am getting paid a HR defined wage for a categorized work despite doing the work of at least 4 headcounts.
There are a lot of parasites to pay for after all.
That's what opened my eyes in the first place.

What remains is that I can either chose to continue to almost work for free like I have been doing just for entertainment or stop working for these thieves and find something more meaningful to do with my time without all of their regulations.
I could stop to work completely if I didn't fear its effect on my sanity, because my current wealth management skills are enough to get me close to becoming a billionaire with accumulated interests when I die with my current wealth.

What good does it bring me to aim for a billion if I don't have any healthy family and nobody will inherit it outside of narcissistic monsters if I don't make some preparations?
My life and childhood have been stolen from me, and I still need to get them back before I can think of building something else on top of it, but it may be too late to get everything.

what do real OG's think of alternative investments other than LINK?

Defi was a huge space that exploded last year but seems like /biz/ or its majority kind of missed it, especially the winners like AAVE or SNX (i recalled SNX being shilled heavily in 2018-2019 but it fell off the grid)

Has /biz/ been getting poorer in their picks due to the increased competition (and complexity of Defi protocols)?

Or is Defi just some noise in the grand scheme of things? Curious to hear you guys thoughts

I would like to add that other than LINK it seems that no other product or project has had such a strong level of memetic interest or dedication for a long time

most projects only PnD or fell off after a hype cycle

promisingly it seems that the few long term projects that have been continuously discussed (and to a small extent some good memes) are

PNK
Statera
RSR
RLC
XSN

are these unironically good picks or will LINK's memetic success on /biz/ be a once in a lifetime chance?

very interesting thanks for sharing.

to me it seems that the only project that has some decently good memes (but none compares to LINK of course) is PNK, which has an interesting use-case or add-on to smart contracts (via dispute resolution).

the others have at least had the tenacity to be stuck on the board or continuously discussed for a longer period compared to other shitcones so I thought they might be worth looking at

the real question is less on the picks and shilling them but more on how the mechanism of memetics and Darwinian selection works on the board - has it been compromised? Has the quality gone down? Is it subject to fluctuation? Will /biz/ ever have the same level of success in selecting a project as a consensus in the future?

I think this borders to mental illness now, having 2.3mm$ worth of link and driving a shitbox around and being a jew about buying anything.
The reason I can't sell is that I kekked so hard at the faggots who sold ethereum at 10$ in 2017 before it mooned to 400$, so selling even 1k linkies seems like a stupid thing to do when now it's only 22k$ but will be worth 100k$ in a few months if alt season.
