To get an up to date number you need to have some sort of premium service. I haven’t seen anyone share the numbers here, but I don’t think it’s currently high like some are saying. The number will go up as the price of the stock goes up and it seems to be at an unsustainable price. That’s where a short squeeze could happen as long as people hold and some continue to buy at an inflated price well above fair market value

It says as of 20 minutes ago that AMC has 44.67 million shares short. There are 56.57 million shares floating. This gives a roughly 79% short interest.

Crucially, the short ratio here (the ratio of the total shares shorted to average daily volume), is .6. Which means they could, hypothetically, cover their short interest within one day of trading. Versus GME with a 2.5 short ratio. Those GME hedgies are giga fucked, beyond fucked. They couldn't cover their position in one day if they wanted to.

AMC still has the potential for a squeeze here, but it'll mostly be fueled by normies buying in tomorrow and shorts covering. It'll go up but I'm not expecting GME levels.
