how does the "mining" work here

I know its a proof of stake coin so theres no real mining (the bean is green and energy efficient)

but like, how often does a new block get discovered and sent to someone in the form of sprouts?

The core team, made mostly of money hungry geriatrics who insist in remaining anonymous, doesn't inspire confidence. They don't have a clear roadmap of the coin and have already failed to keep their promises. Bitbeaner aka Shawn Kent the lead dev is not even a developer, he's not very active in the official chat and when he does come around it's to talk about picking up his kids somewhere. If the core team doesn't go through a major swamp draining, this coin will continue to fail.
