I have and have had no position in GME. Nor will I take one. I am rooting on the sidelines here.
The "overprescribed" short interest on GME started well before March. And it kept going because retail was obliterated. They have been selling calls and then slamming the stock below the strikes for a literal year. Cohen and Burry were not in this primarily for the squeeze but because it was trading at a stupid valuation relative to its book value. NKLA was a gravity assisted truck that was their only product that was "worth" several times what GME was.
I think this market actually has far more cancerous longs. King Pajeet and Cathie Wood with almost everything they touch for example. Most of the companies under their purview have no profit, no clear path TO profitability, and just get swooped up by the same squeeze mechanisms the hedgies are bitching about with GME.
