We're going to see a bull run this year that will be on the scale of 2017 run. BTC price predictions go anywhere from 150-350k, which is 5-10x from here on. Then it will crash by 85% back to 30-60k. It's a 4 year cycle. There will always be opportunities for you, you'll just need to understand what the space needs with each coming cycle. First it was a trustless cash system that provided resistance to any censorship any denial of service to its participants. Then there were smart contracts and the ability to execute functions based on preprogrammed triggers. There are oracles that facilitate bringing data from the real world legacy system on the chain to expand the smart contract potential. DeFi proved this year that with time and enough intellect they can provide much better services and returns than traditional finance can, and we'll see if it materializes in the next bullrun. So many things are starting to pop up it's hard to follow up and it's nice to see new opportunities emerge every year.

Even in the case where you land on black and hit the 7x, you have to put at least 150k on that once-in-a-lifetime win to hit 1mil. Your average anon is probably slightly above-average and clearing maybe 70k/yr, which is really 55k/yr after taxes. They're not going to gamble three years of savings on a meme stock just for the hopes that it will defy all historical evidence to become successful.

DeFi is still innovating and evolving. It's stretching out and figuring out what sticks and as such development will take a while and I expect the run to pass it by. This is coming from a technical standpoint, price actions might still be considerable. Chainlink will be the frontrunner at the moment.

>>26587739
Yes, I agree. Days of randomly stumbling onto a coin and getting a x100 are gone. Most I expect is to get a x20 with the right coins and you'd need 5 figure capital in order for it to propel you to a million. But I'm not sure I agree on DeFi being a liability. It's supposed to work in the way that you put up a collateral in order to get a loan for example. While a normal bank might sit on your house for failure to repay, a smart contract may just liquidate your position when triggers are reached. The dozens of hacks we've seen this year was the most expensive bug testing we've seen in crypto to date as most common exploits have already been patched. It wasn't always due to technical implementation alone, often they were just a half-assed attempts to cut costs on development by picking the cheapest solution possible (such as oracle vector attacks) or just lazy development. DeFi will iron out its kinks in the coming years.

Keep an eye out for promising new protocols and use them.

Also of you have money in the bank convert it into a stablecoin and yield farm. Easy 40-50% apy right now

Non fungible tokens (NFTs)

People are unironically spending huge amounts of money on digital items already (look at fortnite..) and this trend will only continue. Being able to have your ownership of a digital item (artwork for example) recorded in a blockchain and being able to transfer the ownership is a really really good usecase.
