Business, with secondary degree in Economics and minors in Finance and Math.

I think a much cheaper 2 year program would have given me the same life experiences with helped me grow as a person, but was pointless in my career development and earning prospects. I now make a decent living as an assembly line worker for 39 hours a week, and enjoy the simple things that don't cost money (because that goes to my home mortgage and food).

I think I have done ok (even if I am extremely underemployed). I've paid off my college, car, parent debts, ex-wife's house and car, grandam's medical bills, grandpa's funeral expenses and hold a respectable 401K. People either marvel at how poor I live give I don't have much stuff, or celebrate my relatively good financial independence. But all that is not from a decade of studying money at university, it is from about 1 weeks worth of self study with some good business and economic info.

Pay off debt as fast as you can, don't spend more then you got, have emergency funds, save aggressively and invest sensibly, wealth=/=money and don't fall for the "get rich" lottery mindset.

A very wide variety of work. It depends on what type of work you enjoy because pretty much everything revolves around having access to electricity.

I'm on the high voltage side of things education wise but I do enjoy working with PLCs. Ultimately I want to get into power plant operations specifically nuclear and waste management.

Typically expect a lot of testing and product development if you're in aerospace, marine or medical. If you do industrial, commercial or residential its lots of high rise diagrams, figuring out building loads, designating feeders, figuring out what transformers and circuit breakers you need. Anything that goes into supplying electricity to a building. If you do utility side of things you'll be using a software called SKM to design grids, this includes your CB's, HV fuses, transformers, conductors, feeders and anything else that would interfere with the current and then you calculate your short-circuit current at various points to ensure its safe.

It really does depend on your preferences Anon, im here for a while so if you have specific questions ask.
