I'm trying to study amateur behavior by keeping a log of decisions made by new traders and the reasoning behind their trades. I first want to find out how much money people typically start with, and whether or not they had a source of income. Enlighten me you dogs, how much did you spend on crypto when you started, and did you have a job?

Spend whatever you are comfortable with losing. As you are starting out, you are likely to make mistakes

Also that's a man

Similar. Bought the obvious ones and a shit coin to experiment and get my feet wet. Now I'm just lurking and researching mad that I didn't do it earlier.

Did no one start with an amount less than 100$ to test the waters?

I mean, start with a blue chip on a CEX. I bought $100 of ada and it dumped to $80 and hence I learned about "buying the local top". I just didn't mention it because it was inconsequential. I started in September btw

I started investing in 2017. I started with $200 and then $500, $10k, $20k, $100k, add on another $60k. I've cashed out $175k and still have $425k in crypto.
