When I joined in 2017 it was a bunch of /biz/ refugees anyway
Its basically spread the counter culture nature of /biz/ to a new generation and even high profile gen Xers from the dot com days to form a culture of its own - still descendant from 4chan (hence the use of terms like autist and retard to a lesser degree)

My only problem with them is they are much more sophisticated and wealthy than I so I feel a bit left out these days, and prefer to hide away on /biz/ with the real midwits and poorfags
