help me out /biz/.
i'm a recent graduate with a BA and several teaching qualifications
just heard back from the main job i was gunning for that i didn't get the position; at this point, getting a similar job would mean making ~$8k less a year
should i
>just get take a shitty teaching job to get my foot in the door
>do 6 months of volunteer work teaching english migrants in the hope of landing a better job with the qualifications i have now
>do a masters of teaching which is another 2 years of university and ~20k of debt
>do a masters of nursing: another 2 years of uni, less debt (like <$10k), guaranteed employment with a good wage, but living in a shithole town in an extremely stressful and demanding job
>become a code monkey (not sure about how i'd do this, definitely not going back to uni to learn to code though)

Do school online during, or code in the evenings if you are motivated (most won’t be, including myself)

the thing is, getting a teaching job now would mean making less per month than i already do at my current dead-end job
i found getting my teaching certs while working to be a ballache, really doubt i'd do a 2 year master

but yeah no reason i can't start learning C now I guess

Do this. Idk how old you are anon, but I'm 24 and took the "do more school" option when I couldn't find a job after graduating (biochem major, now in for CS) and it was a huge mistake desu.
There are literally no "sure thing" degrees anymore, everything is competitive, tech included.
The one thing that I have been successful with is investing. If you can guarantee yourself a job, take it, the money is liberating and any potential income the MS would bring in wouldn't make up for the lost wages.
Also, coding can be fun but is usually boring. Nursing is hell, there's a reason most nurses leave the field.

Plenty of teachers do their masters while they work a regular teaching job
>teaching english migrants
What the fuck, why? If you really can't get a regular teaching job, work as an aide/para so you still get experience while you figure it all out. I've worked with a special ed program as a teacher's aide for the last few years, low pay but full bennies and really comfy

migrants would be easy desu cause it's just a couple hours a week after work, i feel like it'd be good resumer padding for school intakes for next year
i most likely wouldn't get hired as an assistant/aide because i've got no non-tutored teaching experience, and the deadline for this year's intake was the end of last year

the job that fell through was teaching in Japan; that's my long term goal, but i don't want to work for a shitty, low paying company like AEON; being hired directly by the BoE is far preferable with a much higher salary but you need experience

It's probably not, if I can't secure a job before graduating late in the year I'm going to take whatever I can get. I actually a decent programmer but entry level programmers need to basically have the skill level of a level 2 dev in 2005 to get a job now, at least in Cucknada.

OP. If you have the ability to break out of you shitty yank life I have the solution that will make you happy, rich and have Asian cuties. Simply go to Korea and teach. With teaching qualifications you can work unable Uni. You will have pussy coming out your ears and an easy life where u have free time to play with crypto.

i wouldn't want to live in korea long-term though; i'd rather waste a few years here than have to splash out ~5k to move to another country as a stepping stone

I had no teaching experience, don't even have a teaching related degree, only some past summer camp work with kids (not even special ed kids). I had to learn a lot and really develop personal relationships with the kids, but I'm getting a lot of classroom time and opportunities to teach. I have a sub cert and I'll be running a class for the day next week when a teacher calls out, stuff like that is important
