My only stock which is doing particularly well today is Callinex Mines, now up nearly 5x since I first brought it up here. Mostly I assume because Jake Ducey made a video about it a couple of days ago, or perhaps because somebody on Twitter somewhere is pumping it. Just goes to show how important narratives are for most people (cf. KS), they only pay attention when somebody famous talks about something.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=en6f_yoZO9E

It's one of the stocks I own and recommended here which managed to compensate for this horrible sentiment in the miners during the past 6 months along with Vangold, Klondike, Eloro and a couple of others.

DV was cheap even when it was 35% higher. If somebody is not invested yet and they aren't buying infallible ultra-leveraged silver-call-option stocks like DV and BLLG at these bargain prices then they are insane. Yes it is fren. I got a question for you, do you know how frequently those 1970s 50 franc hercules coins actually circulated in France? Were they commonly used back in the 70s (or later after Silver dropped back down after the 1980 peak) or were they mostly just stacked as bullion?

We had a discussion the other day about gold accounts, I like the look of Kinesis but they don't support GBP just yet. I'm looking at getting a holding with goldmoney, does anyone have any experience with them, specifically taking delivery?

I noticed one the site
"PHYSICAL DELIVERY (COINS & BARS)
You may take physical delivery of your precious metals in the form of sovereign coins and bars through our wholy-owned SchiffGold subsidiary. Directly access SchiffGold via the Goldmoney Physical feature in your Holding. There is no extra fee to take physical delivery of your metals from SchiffGold."
Say I have 32oz of gold and take delivery, are they going to fuck me with a premium on sovereigns? I cant imagine them providing them at spot.

With regard to BHS just wanted to point out, I think you may have misunderstood when they announced doing 10 tpd. It's 10 tpd of concentrate, not ore; 10 tpd of concentrate is 150 tpd of ore which is close to maximum capacity. The $2 million which they will get from the recent off-take agreement should be the funding they need to get to the maximum 200 tpd capacity. They can produce over 1.2 million silver ounces per annum and it only costs them $10 to produce an ounce, so at e. g. $50 silver that's 1.2 million x $40 = $48 million cash flow, at 10x cash flow $480 million mcap, at 30x cash flow $1 billion 400 million mcap. Current mcap is $12 million so that's between a 40x to 120x gain merely at $50 silver, and the leverage only goes up from there. If I am right that silver might get as high as the inflation-adjusted 1980 ATH of $966 then BHS might turn a mere $1000 investment into $2 million dollars at $800 silver, that's why I call it the ultimate risk-reward stock.

Even the current 150 tpd is close to a million silver ounces of production per annum if we take BHS at their word. If that off-take agreement which they recently did the NR on is real and they do sell the silver for a fair price and get a couple million of cash in the bank, that ought to be all that BHS needs to keep going and succeed. Everybody is waiting for evidence of cash in the bank and hitting production targets, that will be the catalyst for sending the stock 5-10x higher very quickly. Sentiment is irrationally in the gutter right now because nobody has the slightest ounce of faith in the CEO any more. But I can find excuses for his missteps and see a lot of good in him; e. g. that he has always poured his own funds into the company, and was very ingenious in getting the permits and the ore-sorter and acquiring such a high-grade mine and getting into any kind of production on such a small budget. The upside potential of BHS is so utterly enormous that I am going to put my faith in him and risk my money for the reward.

Since you're British, why not just use BullionVault which is a British company? They offer the ability to with draw physical gold bullion in the form of good delivery bars (~400 troy ounces), 100 gram bars, or gold coins (sovereigns or popular 1 oz gold coins).

https://www.bullionvault.com/info/100g-gold-bar-withdrawal

Yes, I highly recommend BullionVault also. Buying and selling is instant, you can use the bidding-board to get a good deal, and money goes in and comes out quickly. The sole downside to BV is that you can't register anything less than a 1000 oz silver bar or a 400 oz gold bar. I think that the allocation principle is extremely sound legally but if you want to register smaller kilo bars you have to go to GoldMoney instead. GoldMoney however can be a nightmare to sign up with, buying and selling is at a fixed rate, and it can take a few days for transactions to process. GoldMoney does also allow you to spend gold and silver as a currency, whether by sending it to other GoldMoney users or by using a PM-backed debit card, whereas BV does not.

One minor drop will turn into a big drop followed by a similar postion we saw all through 2020 just to explode.

I have exited a couple positions on companies after they have run up a little bit, but largely I’m sticking with the same miners that I believe check all the boxes, and plan to hold them for the duration of this bull market.

I don't think so anon, the junior miners we're talking about and popular here are speculative and should not be considered as blue chips where you buy and hold forever. Your DD should yield an exit price and the lifetime of a mine is finite as well much like business cycles in industry.
Commodities however can be very volatile with regard to the broader economy. Since we are super bearish about the economy worldwide, it ironically is a good hodl right now but there are gains to be made by trading. I guess you could say that about the blue chip stocks too.

ya, PMs are ultra fun to hold. I wish i had an ounce of palladium and platinum too so i could compare them but they are sooo expensive!

PM ppl have historically sucked at marketing their product. I don't think its stacker FUD either, these people are genuine good goys who 'believe' in PM. this is a foolish marketing strategy.

Good PM strategy:
1. say PM feels cool / looks cool
2. create culture around science of PMs
3. say PM is the new Bitcoin/Tech Stonk/yadda yadda (im working on just getting them to repeat "silver is the new btc" now.

the PM bros need to take a page from the crypto shills here.

Haven't seen Graeme O'Neil ever do that, can be confirmed from the SEDI reports. He sells shares only in order to buy private placements or debentures so as to fund the company. I think at this point that if he doesn't meet his production promises then the share price is simply going to crash to zero, wouldn't matter if it went up a little in the mean-time. To my mind this really is the last step for BHS. They either prove production or it is the end for them.

"GameStop (GME) was temporarily halted for trading due to volatility after the stock jumped a whopping 70% on Friday in an apparent crush on short-sellers. The stock resumed trading in the afternoon and was up around 35%.

The backstory behind the massive spike has to do with short seller Citron Research’s recent prediction the stock will go to $20. Over the last week, the stock has done just the opposite. Here’s why:

On Tuesday, Citron’s managing partner Andrew Left announced he would list five reasons why the shares will plunge. Reddit users called WallStreetBets (WSB), a sub-Reddit community on the platform, pushed back on Left’s call and apparently helped create a massive short squeeze on the stock. A short squeeze forces short sellers to buy in order to forestall bigger losses, sending the stock price much higher."

I still own Viscount Mining and will always continue to hold a position. 100% ownership of the Silver Cliff property. It has a historic resource of 50 million ounces of silver and is located in a safe jurisdiction (USA). "Known historical silver grades range from below detection to a high of 2,125 g/t (68 o/t) Ag over 13.4 metres." The average grade so far is about the same as that of DSV. Most recent results were 99.6 g/t Silver over 21.6 Meters. The mcap is $30 million, whereas that of DSV is $570 million, 20 times higher. DSV also has 20 times more silver (a billion ounces). But DSV's supposed billion ounces include a lot of silver equivalent if I recall correctly. Mining at Silver Cliff (Viscount's property) goes back to the late 1800s so it is a historic silver property. They recently optioned 70% of their Cherry Creek property to Centerra Gold so as to raise money in a non-dilutive manner. CEO did an interview on Chris Marcus's Arcadia Economics and seems to be a silver bull.

MMG is a good stock and I used to recommend it when it was a lot lower. It still is a good stock, I simply exited my position when it seemed a little high and reinvested the money in some smaller mcaps.

Assays should be coming soon, can't wait to see what the Rock is cooking underground!

thanks for the replies anons, I'm not too interested in vaulting long term. What I was looking for was something I can load up small amounts of cash into until I can afford to buy a few oz at a time to save on premiums but also to hedge against inflation and the rising price of gold. All these vaulting services charge silly premiums for physical delivery. So my best option is to just save the money into a vaulting service and then transfer back to fiat when I'm ready to buy.

I like the look of glint as I could buy sovs directly with their mastercard.

Capital Gains Tax in the U. K. only starts after about £12,000, so what you might do is make temporary use of something like PHYS (on the stock market) or BV, then liquidate your allocated metal before you surpass that thresh-hold, then exchange the fiat into Britannias and Sovereigns, on which you pay no CGT when you sell.

If you want to start buying small caps, Blue Lagoon and Dolly Varden are impossible to go wrong with if silver continues to rise.

DV:

"Dolly Varden is probably the most famous name in silver in Canada. Under the British Empire, the Dolly Varden mine in the world renowned Golden Triangle was the richest mine producing direct shipping ore in excess of 1,100 g/t Ag. The Dolly Varden Silver Corp (DV-V) wants to regain that title under new aggressive management. I don’t fault their timing at all. We are in a market crash dead cat bounce not withstanding. At the end of the day and the Everything Bubble we will have both a debt jubilee and a return to a precious metals financial system. Silver will be far more valuable relative to gold than today. Buy any silver company you can, they are all cheap.

With $4 million in the bank, Dolly Varden is well financed to make it through the storms ahead. The company reports a 44 million ounce 43-101 resource. At lower silver prices back just after the turn of the century silver in the ground was being valued up to $3 an ounce. It will happen again.

Dolly Varden has 100% ownership of the 8,800 square Ha property with four past producing mines and four new exploration targets. The company estimates that only three percent of the project has been explored.

In 1919-1921 Dolly Varden produced 1.3 million ounces of silver at an average grade of 1,103 g/t. Between 1949 and 1959 their Torbrit Mine delivered 18 million ounces of silver at 466.3 g/t and had base metal credits. In the 1960s due to the low price of silver the mine went out of production.

Dolly Varden is an institutional favorite with institutions holding about 60% of the shares, Hecla Canada owns another 11% with Eric Sprott taking down another 13%. Only about 16% of the float is in the hands of individual investors leaving a great potential for the stock price to just take off."

BLLG:

"I’m not bored writing about Blue Lagoon. (BLLG-V) It has yet to show up on anyone’s radar but is a, well, call it a gold mine. Two old guys, now 83, spent $28 million over the last dozen years building infrastructure and preparing the Dome Mountain project for production of high-grade gold. Eventually, while the Exit sign wasn’t flashing, it was illuminated and they realized they needed to turn over the project to someone who could and would finish the last 1% of work necessary.

So in stepped Rana Vig, who picked up the mine for 13.52 million shares then valued at $2 a share. It’s an all share deal. Over the years there has been over $68 million spent on the project. It has a mining permit in place for 75,000 tonnes a year and a toll milling agreement allowing for milling of 200 TPD or 73,000 tonnes a year.

The project comes with a historical 43-101 resource going back to 2017 consisting of about 240,000 ounces of gold and a million ounces of silver. It’s a high-grade mine. Noranda drilled 16 diamond holes and outlined a resource of 20,000 tonnes at 23.6 g/t gold. Maps of the high grade main vein show 1 ounce Au over 20 meters, 1.2 ounce Au over 30 meters and 19 ounce Au over 4 meters.

Rana Vig has raised $7.5 million for drilling, finishing the underground work in preparation for production and basic exploration to increase the resource. There is 5,000 tonnes of broken ore mined and ready to be shipped once the final permits come in. That is anticipated and production to commence in Q1 of 2021. Results are coming in from their latest drill program including up to 173 g/t gold.

Blue Lagoon is hardly a one trick pony. As part of the deal, they also picked up a low-grade but large copper project called the Big Onion and located only a 20-minute drive from Smithers, BC. The Big Onion carries a 43-101 resource of 750,000,000 pounds of copper at about 0.32% Cu."

I can confirm that on GoldMoney that you can register 100g gold bars (only 3 ounces). On BV you can only register a 400-ounce gold bar. Same thing is true of silver, on GoldMoney you can register a kg bar (only 32 ounces) but on BV you can only register a 1000-ounce bar. I have never taken delivery with GoldMoney but if I recall correctly you can collect a registered bar. Only trouble with GM is the extra expense. It costs £1,386 to buy an ounce of gold right now which is a 2.2% premium. You pay the same kind of premium when you sell. An ounce of gold is only £1,359 on BV right now which is basically the spot price. So BV is better for the liquidation-into-coins strategy, GM for the collection strategy.

There should not be that kind of variance in the diameters and weights as the US Mint has fairly high quality standards. Since you have a proof coin that you bought directly from the US Mint, you should look at the suspect coins very carefully and compare them with the proof (known good) coin.

It would be even better if you had devices that help detect fakes such as a Sigma Metalytics device or special scales such as the Fisch scales (https://www.thefisch.com). The Fisch scales are obviously not as good as the Sigma Metalytics device but they're much less expensive.

In general, you should avoid buying bullion off eBay, Craig's List, etc. unless it's from a reputable seller such as well-known coin shops that have been in business a long time. You'll pay more at places like APMEX, JM Bullion, etc. but you generally won't have to worry about getting counterfeits.

Just done for the day, and this pops up on the AMRA facebook page. Watch for the Biden Admin amending the 1872 Mining law. This could have massive changes for US based companies.

yea lets put it this way, i am honestly now expecting the worst. Anything from a full freeze on new mineral claims to total rebuild of permits, or even worse. I am sure a lot of small cap projects are going to be effected by this. We have to see though just how far these go.

>> No.26389120

Won't change anything since mining companies own their own property via patents and contractual leases rather than by claim under the 1872 Mining Law.

The bigger issue is Trump appointed a DOI head that wants to shut the DOI down, and then that head hired a bunch of other people that also want to shut it down. Biden is just taking away their authority until he can get around to firing them and replacing them.

Where this gets sticky is we have the same situation in the EPA. Trump appointed an EPA head that wants to shut it down. So Biden is going to do the same thing there and in a couple other agencies. And while mining companies don't generally answer to the DOI or USDA, they DO answer to the EPA.

You're probably aware the portion of the law regarding patents was suspended in the 1990's, it became impossible at that time to convert a claim to a patent. This was because people were claiming and then patenting valuable land to live on or sell rather than mine.

I expect at some point the law will be amended to remove the patent provision entirely

also over the last 4 decades the environmental and insurance requirements to submitting a plan of operation have become more and more expensive, to the point where now if you want to placer mine or hardrock mine a claim in the US you need literally millions of dollars to get approved. I expect a lot of these requirements will be further codified and standardized at the federal level across agencies, just writing in what's already happened. It's already extremely expensive and difficult to mine on public land. Which is the reason most mining companies don't do that. If they want to mine public land it's cheaper to go buy some private property the government wants, and then trade that for the public land they want to mine.

cant have people operating their own mines making money, the very concept of a modern gold rush terrifies those who control our money. Having a family mine even in the 50s meant a heck of a lot, there are so few now that they are a curiosity more than anything. Oddly enough there are still quite a few family run mines up here, but those are way off in the middle of nowhere, probably too far for regulators to bother with.

in my experience here it's just an extremely bureaucratic mindset, you know?
Extreme rule-followers

so if they send you a letter demanding you obtain an easement for your access road, go through the application process for existing operations, post necessary insurance and bond, conduct NEPA studies, show MSHA and EPA compliance, etc., there's 2 options:
1. the owner complies with all that shit and gets to keep their mine
2. the owner tells them to f-off and gets thrown off the land and their operation destroyed.

I've seen it go both ways. But there's a process they follow and it's extremely fair. But also far more expensive than most people can afford.

that's very similar to the US. Something like half our economy and a third of our workforce is government.

The difference is in the US if you get hurt or can convince a jury that you were the victim of something, the lawyers will sue on your behalf FOR FREE! Not really free, but they take most of the money they win. So there's this whole economy of outrage where people try to win money in court and other people and businesses pay insurance to cover when that inevitably happens. I've been sued 3 times which is a fairly low count for a business owner in the US. Every time the person suing me didn't pay for their lawyer. I technically didn't pay for mine either. I paid an insurance company to pay for my lawyer.
