Forgot to add I live in Europe where the demographics are very different from the USA
For example you've got cryptids and surnatural/UFOs disappearances in the Lake Michigan region we have none of that except maybe in some remote parts of Eastern Europe
So my house is still connected to the electrical and water grids, and I've got fairly good internet, 4g sometimes

Where I to live in the US neck of the woods I would most probably invest in a well+rainwater collection system, solar panels + petrol generator, and satellite internet
I would also choose a state where you can have firearms because cryptids, can't have a dogman wrecking havoc in your weed plantation and moonshine barn
If I make it real big I'll get a house in Alabama to live the total burger experience
