There is no one strain that people consider to be an immediately terrible threat, but three independent novel strains have emerged recently which all appear to be more infectious than OG covid. Note - more infectious; probably not more dangerous once you have it. These strains have arisen in the UK (you're welcome), South Africa, and Brazil in the latter half of last year. They all involve mutations to the 'spike' protein (this is the part that gets the virus into your cells) which is the component of the virus that most of the current vaccines target. Broadly speaking, we know very little about reinfection rates between different strains, or even from the OG covid strain.
On the ground in the UK we've seen the new strain outcompete the old strain quickly and dominate, and this has coincided with a steep increase in cases. It's a pain in the ass but it isn't the end of the world. Case outcomes don't appear to be worse, and we don't currently think it has undermined the efficacy of our vaccines.
I know very little about the SA strain other than it also came to dominate quickly and appears to be more infectious.
The Brazil strain is the one that people are most worried about as apparently it looks like it *might* cause problems for the vaccine. Again, I don't know much about it, so I can't say if that's legit or just arbitrary scaremongering. I'm not aware of any concrete evidence that it definitely cause problems for the vaccine nor any evidence that it's more dangerous, but very little is known at this point.

Basically - we don't know yet. Personally I don't think you need to worry right now.

I work in Healthcare in London. Probably got the most dangerous strains of the virus here.

I had my vaccine last month (1dose) and have been working non stop with daily contact with covid patients.

It has the same spike protein. By "hurr hurr vaccine might not work" they mean that there hasn't been a 3 month statistical autopsy with a couple rounds of peer review. Simple as:
1) The whole virus is a fucking hoax and nothing but a gigantic scam to bring their New World Order
2) Vaccines are not needed and will only weaken you more and actually increase your risk of having a terrible reaction to the virus. Basically as >>26265577 says

Most people won't be mentally strong enough to keep staying "no" to the vaccines over the next few years. People will get more and more depressed and lonely. Nothing will be like before. Birth rates will go down, because more and more people will stay single. (How do you gonna meet people under a mask and with lockdowns?) Even if the economy opens up again (I expect in the late 20s), nothing will be like before and people will all have PTSD. Also look into "SPARS pandemic simulation 2025". There will come something way worse than Corona.

It isn't the cold. It's a completely different virus with a different treatment pathway. I agree a lot of people are completely retarded in how they respond to this situation, and a lot of people also are freaking out unnecessarily. Of course businesses want money for the vaccine but I really can't understand what makes you think that vaccinations aren't going to end the lockdowns because that's the entire point of rolling them out so quickly. They could make just as much money doing the vaxx programme at a more sane pace.
In ICU it's always been mostly fatties, oldies and sick people (with a few unlucky healthy people thrown in for good measure), but most of those people weren't going to die in the next 12 months. They probably didn't have the best prospects in terms of qualty-adjusted life years but they had a lot more ahead of them than they ended up getting when covid took them. I can't express any opinion on 'long covid' as I don't see that in real life since they're not in ICU. Personally I know a few people who still haven't recovered their sense of smell but that's about it. I've never had the virus because I'm not retarded and know how to wash my hands.
Some of the things you think aren't stupid and I'm glad you can think for yourself, but a lot of them are really stupid and in blatant contradiction of the most basic facts. I don't know if it's what you truly believe or if you just express them in a deliberately obtuse way.
