If you set your fees to the minimum and your node has good uptime, people will delegate to you. I think people can delegate up to like 5x the amount in the node so 5x2% plus not losing 2% = 12% more profitable to run a node than delegate.

The 2% is just a fee cut of the delegator rewards right?
So having 10k delegated means 1k rewards of which I'll take 2% = 20 avax.

So instead of 294 avax I might hypothetically make 320 avax per year.

I thought you could also gain any fees of subnets. Do they have to select you as a node or will subnet fees automatically come my way?

>> No.26261972

I went all in and delegated all my stack for 1 year. since i bought at 12$ i’ve just been crabbing and will collect the delegation rewards at the end. if this x10 and we get 100 EOY I will be very pleased

>> No.26262072

>>26261860
That’s correct. As far as subnets, I don’t know how it works. I suppose it will depend on who’s subnet it is and what parameters they set for it, as the subnet framework is very flexible. The one thing I know is that your node has to be validating the main chain in order to validate a subnet. One of my buddies thinks that subnet validating will be very profitable, for what it’s worth.
