is there some crypto simulator that uses real market data I can play around with before putting any real money in? or would it be better to just throw a couple bucks into some exchange and use them to practice?

You won't really be able to use a couple of bucks unless you mean in the thousands.

You can simulate by pretending you have invested, writing down your entries and exits, but there is nothing like actually losing money, or not taking the risk of selling.

This may help you or may not. But it worked for me.
Read books on stock trading, books that aim long term, not scalping and get rich quick ones those I trash. I know crypto is different but let me know when a good book on Crypto is out. Unless you already have experience that is.

As this gentleman rightfully pointed out it it borderline impossible to simulate the emotional stimulus of actually seeing you money go up and down.
At first I invested a smaller amount consider it less than $1000 to "play around with". I added in the money with the mindset that it's gone. If I lose it though shite. I suggest you take that approach but the initial amount is dependent on you budget, how much are you comfortable losing.
Do your own research before buying or selling and don't let emotions overwhelm you. This is why I highly advise the following: DON'T PUT MONEY YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO LOSE INTO ANYTHING!!!!
Someone asked Warren Buffet for advice because he cannot sleep due to how much money he has in stocks. His response withdraw until you can sleep soundly.
If you cannot control your emotions and impulses this is not for you. Considering that the volatility here is more extreme.

You learn by using real money.

With those simulators you dont give a fuck if you lose it so you invest it like a retard.

This. It's very similar to learning poker, it's kind of pay to play lessons, since it's impossible to play "for real" with fake money. The emotional attachment to money is what makes it fun

yes, don’t listen to these cia kike faggots trying to get you to lose money. you are new so your investing skill is at its lowest point. it’s only sensible to invest a SMALL amount of money now and then gradually invest more and more as your skill level grows. even in a bull market retards can lose money, and a good trader can make money in any market. but that said you wont conquer the psychological/gambling addiction part of investing without using SOME real money.
