Anyone else understands it or not yet?

It's the end for Crypto. I mean, not entirely, but you guys can also sense that it will crash once again into oblivion like in 2017?

Back then, it took two years to build up back again. Just sayin', it seems like it's happening again.

A healthy correction is what we need to ensure a strong 2021.

"Healthy correction" kek

I would say ETH is going back to 300, BTC to 10k

I agree, but
>2017
while the ATH was reached and the crash began in late December 2017, the crash was mostly a 2018 event.

Yeah and in January it fell down, it's just doing the same.

>>26251680
Well if it takes years to get back up, i'm not worrying into that but I get your point

If you're going to compare to historical events, then we are now in EARLY 2017 not 2018!).

We are now 8 months past the last halving. We just broke the previous ATH. In the coming year we will see a slow and steady uptrend with a peak in 12 months.

If the bitcoin cycle repeats (as it has done 5 times), then there is no major crash this year (and also no alt-season btw).

You can tell you're new to this if you think this is going to be the same as in 2018.

Dear brainlet, I am here just to tell you halving doesnt mean shit for the price and that you Are a brainlet. Bye

>>26251680
honestly this as long as they don't ban crypto I may actually work this year if I can buy in at a reasonable price

so when is the altcoin season? 2022?

>> No.26252744

>>26252572
Except that you can objectively prove it and it has always been true so far.

Halving means there are 50% fewer btc being mined. This means supply goes down, while demand stays constant(ish). Since there is less supply, there are fewer btc being mined than what people want to buy. People start selling from their stashes at higher prices, and price goes up.

I hope you learned something today. I tried to explain as simple as possible.

>> No.26252771

>>26252494
The difference is that people KNOW it will crash. So I think it will do the same as before, but with much more severity. Lower dips and higher tops. The overall on the long term shouldn't change tho

I'm not new to crypto. I've known it before you did.

>> No.26252888

>>26252744

There's literally no demand other than the people investing due to believing it will go further up.

And maybe some 1% using it as cash for obscure reasons

This is the thing, no one needs, no one wants actualy crypto. They just speculate and make profit out of it.

>> No.26253081

>>26252888
Sure, I'll admit that I'm also only in it for speculation. However, demand generated by speculation is still demand.

Don't forget this cycle was bootstrapped by PayPal and grayscale, who helped increase the demand through their clients. Artificial or not, demand is demand.

Whether btc is useful or not, that's a whole other discussion, unrelated to bitcoin's halving cycles.

>> No.26253296

>>26253081
Sure. But what I feel is that, for the current time, it's way too high. Also I think there's no need of much for it to crash once again, as people are already expecting it to happen

Lets speak about ETH for example. Sometimes, due to its price, the fees are around 150 to 200$ to swap using Uniswap. It may not be that huge if you're wealthy, but for the masses it may just drain up until they have no more. Or just until they wanna cash out.

I guess we'll see, right. I would bet on a crash anyway, I sold this morning, and already saved 15%

>>26252888
there will still be demand for it as a store of value and an easy way to carry it (such as on a hardware wallet which is easier to carry than duffle bags or gold) even if the value no longer increases. Admittedly this was less of a concern before but during the pandemic it went up with more countries like argentina increasing taxes and countries like america increasing money printing

Then they will use stable coins
