This shitcoin can't maintain a measly 5% pump without losing everything the same day. The whole market is mooning. I'm starting to believe Roger Ver is right - XMR had an inflation bug and somewhere a megawhale is dumping his infinite bags suppressing every pump.

You are genuinely retarded. If you want to play scam roulette why are you even looking at XMR? There are teams out there making tokens with the sole intention of astroturfing forums and manipulating exchanges to maximize the pump and dump with no effort wasted on usability. If your time horizon is limited to days, weeks, or months then Monero, which is preparing to take over the entirety of "black market" (free market) finance, is obviously not for you.

Like what kind of work? Ever heard of Monero Research Lab?

For anybody wondering why monero is not pumping it is because their marketing sucks shit. Absolutely a disaster. In a word: Boriiiiiing.

Other coins literally promise retards the world, it will do everything and more it will displace banks, be a platform, be the next big thing™. Shit like tron, verge and a million others and whatever.

But where are those shit coins now? Gone, nobody even remembers them. Fake promises and empty deliveries.

Xmr is boring but is here to stay and slowly rise in value. It won't pump but it will not dissapear overnight either. If you cannot deal with that. Go join some random pumps and hope for the best.

Their are no quick developments because everything is verified and community crowd funded.

Monero is safe and boring. Now fuck off.

Atomic swaps = government can't do shit. As long as BTC/LTC/etc are around XMR is easily acquirable, they'd literally have to ban ALL the maincoins to hinder Monero trading.

>Are Cryptocurrencies 'Super' Tax Havens?

>112 Michigan Law Review First Impressions 38 (2013), 11 Pages Posted: 5 Aug 2013 Last revised: 5 Jul 2015

Abstract

I describe the mechanisms by which cryptocurrencies — a subcategory of virtual currencies — could replace tax havens as the weapon-of-choice for tax-evaders. I argue such outcome is reasonably expected in the foreseeable future due to the contemporary convergence of two processes. The first process is the increasing popularity of cryptocurrencies, of which Bitcoin is the most widely recognized example.

The second process is the transformation of financial intermediaries to agents in the service of tax authorities, as part of the fight against offshore tax evasion. Financial institutions are faced with increased governmental pressure to deliver information about account holders, to withhold taxes from earnings accumulating in financial accounts, and to remit such taxes to taxing authorities around the world.

Significantly, cryptocurrencies possess all the traditional characteristics that tax havens do; Earnings are not subject to taxation, and taxpayers’ anonymity is maintained. The operation of cryptocurrencies, however, is not dependent on the existence of financial intermediaries. Thus, cryptocurrencies have the potential of defeating the recent successes of governments in battling offshore tax evasion.

It's a spending coin... Those never do that well besides one or two moonshots in their history.. In other words cryptos that have a narrative focus on its use for spending don't do as well over time. Why do you think no one cared about bcash for example? Because they didn't want to spend it on coffee... And those that did care about forcing themselves to spend it for the sake of the meme... Well that just put downward pressure on the price.... Other altcoins that followed in bcash's wake that emphasized how great it was for spending (such as Nano) have typically enjoyed one moonshot then it's hard for people to care about it because they realize they themselves don't care about spending it and that's a bummer on what's supposed to be one of the main shilling points.

Glad Monero exists to be used but that's something else than expecting it to be a good hold ( a different use entirely).

Not necessarily true.
monero hides amounts and uses a proof to verify that the inputs equal the outputs. the proof can be faked if you can break the discrete log problem, which quantum computers can do. so theoretically you can craft a tx with a small amount of xmr going in and a large amount coming out and then fake the proof with your quantum computer, and everyone else would be none the wiser to inflation happening.

>> No.26241288

>>26241196

>> No.26241346

>>26241196
there are many unpredictable ways an inflation bug can happen. there were several inflation bugs in bitcoin and none of them involved solving the discrete log problem. the first time it happened in bitcoin, they simply forked the chain. this cannot happen with Monero cause no one knows if it exists. there can be an inflation bug without creating additional coinbase transactions, so it's completely unauditable in Monero.

The reality is that organic demand for actual working products at the moment are not big enough to compete with the demand from hype and speculation in this space. Augur & BAT are two examples of actual working projects that can be utilized now but does not capture enough of the market to catch on for a large market cap. Unfortunately Monero is a project that falls into this category. Until organic demand becomes strong enough it will always be left behind by projects that get pumped by promises and speculations. The good news is that until these projects can fulfil or exceed their promises, the pumps don't turn out well in the long run.
