i actually feel really bad because unlike so many scams this actually has some tech behind it
they just couldn't figure out how to fight the bots and introduce any level of sybil resistance. hint: government IDs are an absolutely laughable way to verify people because of shit tier countries where they cost a few cents a piece.

It's constantly being reminted/recirculated by pajeets dumping their modest browser gains every month. The whitepaper explicitly says it has mechanisms to prevent it from appreciating too much. I made the same mistake as you all the way back in mid 2017 when I made my first-ever crypto purchase of BAT at 25c, capitulating around 10c. But as I got past initial bad experience, watching BAT lead the 2019 bull market before even BTC, it became clear that it has lasting utility as a medium-volatility stable coin.

I used to think there couldn't be enough retail selling to seriously affect BAT's price, but it has to be. There's no other explanation. I guess BAT literally exists to be given out for free and then sold, and certainly not held or bought on exchanges. Infuriating.

The recirculation is explicitly stated in the whitepaper. That's also part of the reason you can only buy BAT with USDC on Coinbase Pro. Brandon Eich is legit enough not to scam people, and he's smart enough to avoid hot water like the XRP schizos by preventing anyone from using BAT as a pump and dump.

Why would it moon? What is the buy pressure? I have seen arguments that since the circulating supply is nearly maximized, it should force a decline in trading supply and a sharp spike up, but that hasn't happened yet. Keep holding out for a 4x I guess.

Yup. Guess I underestimated that power of the dump. I legitimately thought most would hold and speculate on price go up, but I was dead-wrong (so far)

I don't know, but I look at something like LINK and I just know there are huge LINK whales who straight up fucking refuse to sell. There's bigtime buy pressure now, but I honestly believe LINK went to $2 on people just not selling. Nobody wanted to sell their LINK.

If BAT had some sort of incentive to just hold or not fucking dump immediately, it could do what LINK did.
