I red pilled myself two weeks ago and picked up 10K of them, here’s what I found - TLDR; right now there are tons of transactions that happen inside of the blockchain with valuable, usable data inside each one of them. Data that is redundantly interpreted for each one. Graph is a solution for that redundancy - through actors called Curators they’re able to put value on that data, then through actors called Indexers are able to take the most important parts and index it into searchable databases. So next time a developer aka consumer of the data needs to access it, they don’t have to go digging around like they do now - instead just search an index. The token is the compensation for curating, indexing, and payment for searching. I could be way fucking off here but I didn’t see anyone genuinely respond to your request. This project is interesting because it’s one of the only ones I’ve seen that helps take blockchain data that Chainlink has verified as true and index / categorize it into searchable data for further development. There are massive billion dollar plus companies like Splunk and DataDog making millions doing similar things for public enterprises - I don’t see why Graph couldn’t become the blockchain alternative.
