I think it's simply that if enough people believe it, it becomes self fulfilling.
"Bottoms" are created by a mass of people speculating that the price will bounce back on that particular trendline, and then they actually happen.
See the march crash, it touched the absolute lower trendline of 2017-2020 and bounced up

Well yes, but also no.

TA is bullshit because the market is bullshit. Crypto is a ponzi so everything is speculative, there's nothing backing any of this but code.

As such the price is based on what traders speculate will bear profit or consolidate losses. Those traders use TA methods to govern their decisions.

So TA is bullshit, but like bitcoin itself, enough people buy the bullshit to make an impact, making it real.
