The autobalancer needs to keep ratios balanced. This is the same for all pools. Then you have statera which because of the burn causes them to almost constantly be unbalanced, increasing volume = fees. This creates arb opportunities out of thin air increasing volume = fees. When one pool has to balance wSTA by buying or selling, another pool will have to counter that move because price of the token has moved so it has to buy and sell STA, which ripples back over to the Balancer pool and throughout the whole ecosystem.

Recently STA introduced a STA/wSTA pool. So even if you just want to hodl you can put your tokens in this pool and still earn a small amount in fees. The STA/wSTA pool is referred to as the Infinity pool on the official website. If you've a small bag of STA it may not be worth the gas cost of pooling, but if you have a larger amount it makes sense to be pooled all the time.
