For any seasoned anon, it was evident that LINK was special because of the tone with which anons discussed about it. When someone is completely, utterly convinced, you can feel it in xir writing, and you can also feel if such conviction stems from delirium or advanced research. And when you've come to understand anons' tone, when they troll to the max or are dead serious (not easy to distinguish if you're not accustomed to 4chan which is really a special place and the best one on the internet), you've got a good compass to judge whether X sucks or is interesting

Eg good standup artists have hecklers (and I suspect many are their friends or paid associates), it creates tension and allows for the artist to come out on top.
In the musical scene, extremely cult/respected bands with a sense of humor love hecklers, it's like a mark of nobility. The band is so good that demeaning them is so pointless that it becomes hilarious. Eg "Primus sucks!" was a warcry in Primus shows, and in the last Botch (post-hardcore legends) show, the singer asked the public for heckling "come on...tell me I'm fat or something"

FUDding is 100% this, talking shit about a product you in fact respect a whole fucking lot and that you love. Are there any psychological studies about all that?
