I'm very new to crypto and I'm wondering just how you get in on a coin through research and whatnot. How do I do research to find coins that have yet to moon, and be confident they aren't shitcoins? How did people invest in ETH and LINK and be confident about it? How can people be confident in coins like XRP and IOTA? What did they research about it that makes them believe in those coins?

also what crypto trader should I use? Gemini doesn't have XRP and IOTA and you can't search them

Well, to truly believe something assuming you aren't a retarded sheep, you have to understand it. Therefore, you have to understand why the coin has potential and find a guarantee that there is no possibility of a rug pull or something similar. There's also the intuitive part in getting a feeling for some coins above others, it's very important that the founder is credible and that he´s fully invested in the project. A good way to look at the crypto market is like a bunch of species, some have different strengths and sizes, so you have to think about which species will co-exist, survive, evolve, etc.
